Good value.
This is my first X Wing. The build was pretty straightforward. Price was pretty good for this build. Some minor things I don’t like was the front landing gear doesn’t retract, R2 sat a little too high and also too many stickers especially the ones on the technic sections. I eventually left the stickers off that part. Overall it’s a pretty solid build and it’s great to swoosh around. My son absolutely loves it. This set actually is right in the middle in terms of cost but not giving up too much so u can still put it on display and play with your younger kids. Can it be better, sure. But to me Lego did a pretty good job on this X Wing. I give it an -A.

Very Impressed
Since I was a child I have always wanted a lego X-wing. The UCS model looked incredible but was definitely out of my price range. Thankfully this one has not yet been retired!
The build itself is fun and innovative, the use of hinges to make the nose and the wonderful technic setup in the back to make the wings open were awesome! I enjoyed the building thoroughly and have found myself grinning like a kid as I open and close the wings. I think the inclusion of the play features detract a bit as they are not integrated as well as they are in other sets
The price of star-wars sets is always steep, but this budget x-wing is a well designed, fun build.
I hope alongside their collectors series LEGO continues to prioritize builds like these.

Not worth it....sadly
I bought this to add to my collection but was quickly disappointed when it arrived. The set seems cheap, a scaled back version of the 2018 set, I was hoping for an improvement with this new one. In comparison with the 2018 set this one has fewer features. No stud shooters on the side, only 2 spring loaded shooters not 4, a Smaller cockpit and not as film accurate. The mini figs are the only thing good about this set, although I was hoping for Biggs to be with the new set.

missing pieces
bought this thinking it was worth the price. clearly not, if i can’t connect one of four exhausts to the engines. very upset, spent hours deciding between this and the trench run set and decided this one for the mini figures and the price. but without the missing one by one cross at the back it really ruins the look and experience :( really regretting this purchase

Nice and simple
When i bought the kit the lego expert at the store told me how they improved the wing functionality since the first set. The build was simple and it was amazing to build the technique based assembly and watch it come to life. It certainly does make the opening and closing of the wings easy. I am not sure about how the dash is placed in the new build so after looking at the original, I think it was better.
I am waiting for some bricks to rebuild it.

Amazing build for the money. Only down side for me was the front landing foot could be a bit sturdier but overall an amazing build.
