Hate new formula - leaves film, doesn't moisturize
I ADORED the previous version of this, I have no idea why they decided to change it. It's not longer a "gel" or smooth. Doesn't feel water based at all. It's not sticky, but it leaves a film on the skin and has a much stronger fragrance. It feels like it just sits on the skin all day instead of actually moisturizing it. I'm so sad, I had a whole recurring subscription for the old version, I'd been using it for the last 3 years, it was my fave! Hope they bring it back. In the mean time, I'm on the hunt for a good dupe.

This hydra gel cream works pretty good. after washing my face, I apply a small amount before putting on some foundation/press powder/ concealer or nothing at all. I find it absorbs fairly well and my skin feels instantly hydrated. The times I used it after a work day, I find that my t zone is oily. It could be the recent wave of warmer weather we’ve had or the environment I’m in, but a dusting of powder fixes it right up. I haven’t gotten any irritations. It has a nice light scent. I wouldn’t mind using this and my current moisturizer interchangeably.

My skin feels “drenched”!
I live in the driest area in the country and have very dry, sensitive, mature skin. I was spraying my face with water and Aloe Vera constantly, all day long. I run multiple humidifiers in my home 365 days a year. And then I tried Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream for Extra Dry Skin and within a week, my skin felt supple, totally less itchy and chapped and actually started to feel moisture laden. My moisturizer and sunscreen (applied over the Hydro Boost) soaked into my skin easily and yet did not leaving my face feeling like it needed more. I don’t think I can live without this! My skin feels better, looks more supple and I don’t have the itchy, flaky skin I have been suffering my whole adult life. I am just finishing my third jar and have already purchased the next. I don’t want to be without this even for a day. A little goes a long way. Immediately absorbed. Great results. Highly recommended. Does exactly what it says it will do.

I have never used a gel cream on my face before so at first I was a bit hesitant to apply it all over my face. I ended up trying it out and this cream absorbed really nicely into my skin and with that it did keep my skin well hydrated throughout the day.
The only thing that I noticed is that around my nose was a little dry but that is typical for me so it did not bug me at all.
I have to point out that the cream didn't feel sticky. I am really happy with this.

So I turned to Neutrogena's Hydro Boost Gel Cream. I applied it twice a day in the morning and night, and I actually saw a difference in my skin. My face felt quenched and hydrated after just a few days use. It also left my skin feeling smooth to the touch.
I will definitely continue to use this product, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a light-weight, fragrance-free and effective hydrating face cream.

After my daily skin care routine I placed some in my face and neck. The gel smells great and does not have an overpowering smell. It goes on light. There is no greasy feeling after you place it on your skin. I have combination skin so it did amazing on both my cheeks and T-zone area. It left my skin moisturized and very smooth. I honestly really love how well it did and left me feeling bare. I found a new moisturizing product for my face. A definite 10/10.

It absorbs very quickly and gave my skin a soft, moisturized feeling afterwards. It barely feels like there is anything there but my skin is noticeably softer and less dry. I think this is the perfect daily moisturizer that I would wear for a fresh faced look or under make up.
I really liked this product and I would definitely purchase it again. I received Neutrogena's Hydro Boost Gel Cream to try and review for free as part of ChickAdvisor's Product Review Club.

This hydro boost gel proved to be just as effective. The only con is that it's not the typical affordable price that one would expect from a drugstore brand. However, the product really delivers on its claims. In fact, it is pretty lightweight and it absorbed quickly into my skin, which made it easy for my make-up application. In addition, the hydration it gave lasted for most of the day.
