no paper instructions/upset parent
This set along with the 2 other Mario lego sets we received come with no paper instructions. We have a 4&6 year old constantly asking us too find the instructions on the computer. It is a huge pain in the butt and inconvenience. We have to help them on how to use the computer while following the instructions which makes this not an independent toy they can play with. Please do not purchase this set if you have little children that can build independently but are unable to use an electronic device independently. I do not enjoy my kids on my expensive computer, they have already wrecked one.

Great set to start off you’re Mario spree!
If you have no idea of what set you’re getting, then I should consider this being the one set you’ll be getting.
This set comes in a lot of variety of creations of your own levels and it is a heck load of fun! All though it’s only flaw is that you need batteries for Mario, but it’s still quite fun!
If you’re a parent or like me however. Consider buying it! (Optional)

What do i do?
I bought my daughter this set for her 12 birthday. She was so excited as was i. I grew up with mario. My daughter opened the mario starter pack. The detail of the set is awesome. After about 30 minutes she said she was done with the set. She said the online instructions and browser were too confusing. I bought her every mario set available and i cant get her to build any of them due to not wanting to look at a phone or laptop trying to see small pieces. Why no paper instructions anymore? She has been building 16+ sets for almost 3 years with very little difficulty and now doesnt want to build lego sets anymore with online instructions. I think this online instruction platform is gonna cause problems with lego buyers/builders

Could be nice, but the app is rubbish
The idea of Lego Super-Mario is nice, however it has a big drawback: its smartphone/tablet application.
The app is barely compatible with only a few models, and when it's compatible, it uses a maximum of memory, it's slow, and finally freezes all the time. Don't expect to play without the app, build-instructions are in the app only!
I bought Legos to save my son from screening time, which is quite armful for children, but Lego decided that children have to use tablets and smartphones to play their games.
Obviously Lego of my childhood (with pneumatic systems, quality models, etc.) is dead now.

Our Mario is dead
My son with autism was begging us ( by saying lego Mario for 133565321467 times) to buy this set for four months, after I purchased it and built the whole thing we discovered that our Mario hasn’t any sound effects with the weird black thing on the small tummy screen, Then next day Mario has only light from the bottom without any other light or sound effects.

Needs printed instructions
They should have included an instruction booklet. The idea is cool and Mario sounds are neat but not something I'd buy again. Can't seem to find the app either. Hope I can get my money back.
