Was the best deodorant out there...change it back!
I wore the old formula every day for 8+ years, went through a stick a week at least, always got compliments on my scent and loved the scent myself, which is rare because I'm sensitive to a lot of fragrances. It always gave me adequate sweat protection.
The new formula is just awful. It doesn't wash off as easily, yet I sweat through it in a few hours. The smell is unpleasant, almost waxy, and bothers my allergies. If they don't bring back the old formula soon I'll have to switch brands when I run out of this mess, but I've got several sticks piled up unfortunately. Why fix it if it isn't broken?? Go back to the old formula ASAP!

It WAS great
I've used this scent for years and always loved it until the recent change. Since it was changed to 48 hour protection, the scent is no longer the same. I asked several people to smell the old one and then smell the new one with the same result... The new one isn't good. The ingredients are slightly different and I'm disappointed. I have been unable to find the 24 hour one. Why do companies do this? Just keep stuff the same.

Smells disgusting
I was a long time user of essence and it smelled awesome! You changed the scent since my last stick and now I cannot stand the smell. My wife use to love the way it smelled on me as well but since you changed the scent she doesn't like it either. I don't know why you went and changed it but I will be returning the 2 sticks I just bought and find another brand that smells good. I won't be using your brand again unless you change the scent back to how it use to smell. If you do change it back I hope it's not too late for me to come back to your brand due to me finding another that smells good. BRING BACK THE OLD ESSENCE SCENT!

48 hour product is horrible. You can't wash it off. Shower and wash with soap x 3 and can still feel it sticky on my body. But the "all day" is easy to wash off, and a much more superior product. Who wants a 48hour deodorant anyway? Is it for people who don't like to bathe but every couple days or so? Can I get my money back on the four 48 hour sticks I bought by mistake?
Now, the "all day" product is excellent.
The 48 hour product makes no sense, and moreover, is just a poor product, . . . it really does sticky with you for 2 days.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am an avid user of the Phoenix brand line, until I received a free sample of the AXE ESSENCE ANTIPERSPIRANT. Upon receiving it, I stored it up until I was finished with my current deodorant. Well, it was time to use the ESSENCE and I was not disappointed. It went on, smelled, worked, no chalkiness, no odor, and lasts quite a while, because it was 'GREAT.'

Bring back the old formula
I used the old formula of axe essence for over 12 years and was planning to continue using it for the rest of my life.
The new 48 hour formula is just plain aweful. It doesn't stay on as well, doesn't smell as good, and worst of all it stains my clothes which the old formula never did.
I will be switching brands now. Good job axe, you managed to lose a lifelong customer. Why would you try to fix something that was perfect already?

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Was a little hesitant to try this antiperspirant because I assumed Axe was just for teenage boys. The Axe Essence Antiperspirant Stick has an okay scent that is not too overpowering, but it still has kind of a cheaper cologne smell to it. It's not the worst, but I wouldn't say it's a favourite either. For me, it has proven to be effective while mountain biking outdoors on hot summer days, but I don't wear it to work because I prefer a less of a scent and I work in hospitals (I'm supposed to wear products with no scent) I wouldn't say it's the best antiperspirant available, but it is sufficient for the price.

Used for 15 years, and now...
I've used this scent for over 15 years and always loved it until the change to 48 hour protection. When I got the new one both myself and my wife said wow that does not smell right, it smells really bad. I asked several people to smell the old one and then smell the new one with the same result... The new one isn't good. I'm very disappointed. I have been unable to find the 24 hour one anywhere. I am at a loss, now I must find a new deodorant, Axe has lost my business.
