It is harder to spread than the drug store brands with harmful chemicals But my kids have no issues with it since it's all we've used on them. When I bought them a brand with chemicals so they could rub it in easily at school they complained that the "liquidy "feeling was gross and they prefer this brand, so, it's all what you get used to.
Personally, I use this brand in the lotion form- rubs in very easily but only spf 25.

This is the first natural sunscreen I try so I don't know if the thickness and whiteness are normal. It sure is thicker than regular (chemical) sunscreen and it makes you white if you don't spread it well. I bought it because it had a low score in the Skin Deep database (the higher the score, the more toxic), I checked various reviews on brands and this is the most healthy and affordable. So I prefer having a pale face than putting chemicals on it! I found that mixing it with a bit of tinted mosturizer (I used Pure Anada) was an okay solution but next time I'm going to buy Badger's tinted sunscreen.
Oh and it's waterproof.
