How To Use:
Apply a thin layer to entire face twice a day after cleansing. Spot-apply if you are using another leave-on acne treatment. Using other topical acne drugs at the same time or right after use of this product may increase dryness or irritation of skin. If this occurs, only one medication should be used unless directed by a doctor. If bothersome dryness or peeling occurs, reduce usage to every other day. Use a moisturizer.

Phenomenal!!
The key is Salicylic acid.. It breaks down excess sebum and oil. Salicylic acid is used in wart removal pads, just at a stronger concentration. It pulls and dissolves the sebum and therefore shrinks pores and over time alleviates returning acne. It does sting, but not in a bad way for me.. I have to apply it sparingly and fast!! it dries almost immediately after applying to my face.. I dab it on in sections and cover my whole face and neck.. Skso a great spot treatment. Use proper exfoliating and hydrating products to coincide with this acne gel to see the best results. I love this product way better than a Benzol peroxide product.

Disappointed Long Time Customer
I've been using the 3 step acne solutions line for almost 10 years, along with many other Clinique products. Since the former 3rd step/all over clearing lotion has been discontinued, my skin has been in horrible shape. This product was pushed to me as an alternative and it has done nothing to help my skin. I have since switched to a different brand's acne product which has helped a little but I would go back to Clinique original 3rd step lotion in a heartbeat if it returned. Please bring back the old product!!!

Protect your pimples
When you put this stuff on, it'll sting. Personally, I love that feeling because it really makes me believe it works! I wouldn't recommend putting this on your entire face because there isn't a lot of product (it's also expensive) and it won't feel good. It's best to use it as a spot treatment. One of my favourite things about it is that it leaves a thin film on top of the acne and you can safely put makeup over it without worrying!

More breakouts than before
I think I got my hopes up on this product. I read all the reviews and it seemed to work well for a lot of people so I thought I'd give it a try. I have combination skin so I just spot treat. I've been using it now for a few weeks and I've broken out more in the areas I'm treating than I had before I started using it! Is this normal?? It seemed to take the redness away but as soon as one barely disappeared another showed up! And it makes my face look super shiny, not something I need. Super disappointed!

Need the old Step 3 - All over clearin & Emergency gel back
Like many reviewers, I am starting to lose patience waiting for the Step 3 to come back. The All over clearing lotion was amazing and this gel is not even remotely compatible. My Clinique consultant explained that you need a new supplier for one of the ingredients and you need time to submit all the tests. But it has been many months now and my face can no longer wait! Please work hard to bring it back AND make sure you notify your customers as soon as it is restock!

Pimple killer
I find this effective to stop the newly forming oily pimples from reaching their full blown potential. However, I'm also prone to hormonal acne, and I find that it's not as effective for that type of acne (in other words, works better on pimples resulting from me eating oily foods). Also, you'll need to use a second solution for healing the pimple after you've used this to kill it (I use a tea tree oil).

Mixed Feelings
I've used this product for several years as a spot treatment for breakouts and it's always done the trick. However, this is not a suitable replacement for the all over clearing treatment lotion that was recently discounted (very sad to see this go) as it will dry out the skin. I've been using the clearing treatment for years and have been having troubles trying to adjust as the gel doesn't quite work as a daily solution.

Doesn't work
It got this product as a sample as I was looking for a product to use it on my acne spots, it dries the spot but it doesn't make any changes at all.
