Worst Moisturizer I've EVER Purchased
I'm not one to ever write negative reviews, but after using the product consistently for nearly two weeks to gather a well-rounded opinion on the product, I'm highly disappointed that the product didn't perform well. I'll begin by stating that the product does have a great ingredient formulation, alongside being ethically produced. BUT, that aside, the product was a series of disappointments. It's important to acknowledge that I have sensitive rosacea-prone, dry-combination skin.
Pros:
- The product had a matte finish that may be beneficial for those with extremely oily skin but a horror show for those with combination, dry, or balanced skin types.
- For the quantity of moisturizer that your receive, I'd say that it's being sold at a decent price point.
- Canadian-made and seemingly great ingredient formulation.
Cons
- Not only did my face appear so dull that it was as if I had been severely dehydrated, but the product also leaves a white cast/tacky paste on your skin that becomes flaky and patchy as the day goes on. This was the likely result of their "redness" prevention. The application feels as though you have a layer over top of your face that causes your face to feel stiff to move. Which, because of this 'prevention' it's contradictory to know that heat collected, likely as a result of your skin being prevented from ventilating itself, causes additional facial redness the moment you physically exert yourself.
- While I do have sensitive rosacea-prone skin, I have to be extremely careful of the products that I use since many times products can cause irritation and burning. This product was one of those circumstances. While it thankfully didn't give me red patches, my face was dry and itchy throughout the day.
- The facial dryness lasted throughout the day up until and even after additional applications. On average, I would apply the cream twice a day in the hopes that it would provide my face with any form of moisture but, if anything, it made it worse.
If you purchase this product, do so with caution and keep your expectations at a minimum.
