Smells like Cologne
I received this as a free sample. I used the tiniest bit because of the smell. To me it smells of very strong men's cologne. It was overpowering in the shower. I washed my hair multiple times after and can still smell it. Aside from my own discomfort with the smell, I can't imagine this would be a good product to use if you're going to be around other people who might have their own fragrance sensitivities. I used such a little amount it was hard to tell, but I'm pretty sure it has microbeads.

nice product, would try again
I chose this as a sample with my last order because I was interested in the idea of a scalp scrub...after all, that's where the real hair washing happens!
The product is a gel consistency with "microcrystalline cellulose" particles -- NOT plastic microbead polymers but rather a sustainable alternative made of wood pulp.
Unless you have short hair, it's tricky to apply the product only to the scalp and not the rest of your hair, but I managed to work in a quarter-sized dollop in general areas. I have to say I really liked it! It doesn't feel like it's doing anything at first as it's not sudsy and difficult to 'spread around'...feels a bit like beach sand in your hair. But after a few seconds the menthol kicks in and it feels very fresh and tingly which I liked. I give it a quick rinse followed by shampoo, and by the time I've rinsed out my conditioner all of the grit is gone.
My sense of smell is very sensitive to perfumes and colognes and yet I did not find the fragrance off-putting or strong at all, which is surprising reading other's reviews. I say give the sample a try if you can.

Can't recommend even tho the smell is AMAZING
The smell is invegorating and amazing - some people might find it strong but I love it! However, there are microbeads in there (!) and they seem to never wash out. I was in the longest shower of my life and I am still finding beads in my hair. During the rinse, the beads got everywhere - I could feel them all over my body. And I believe Canada banned microbeads in 2018 due to the harm it causes to our water system, and that alone will mean I never use this again. DITCH THE BEADS!!

Horrible!!!!!
I got this as a free sample in my last order. Firstly I’m pretty sure this has microbeads in it which are terrible for our waters but also are banned in Canada! Second the smell is horrible! Like cheap men’s cologne, I washed my hair multiple times and the smell is still there! It also took forever to get the beads out of my hair. This product states “intelligent haircare” on the packaging, there is nothing intelligent about it.

This was awful
I received this as a sample. Was excited to try it but was disappointed. It smelled awful, way too strong in terms of scent. Worse the product made my hair feel slick and it was almost impossible to get all the little bits of grit material out of my hair. I had to wash my hair three times with my regular products to get the grit, smell and slime of this out of my hair. Definitely will not be buying EVER.

Stopped itching after first use
I actually received a sample with my order and I'm so glad I did. I have very sensitive scalp, irritating and itching problems for years now. The morning I tried it, I was having a rash and just after scrubbing the product in, I was already relieved from the pain! It's kind of minted so it gives a really fresh feeling. Greatly efficient, it's 100% sure I buy the regular sized scrub in my next order!

I got this as a sample and was very pleasantly surprised. I have super thick hair and often have an itchy scalp. This felt great to scrub in (though it wasn’t super easy - probably easier for short haired people). It tingles and smells great. A full day later and my scalp isn’t itchy! Definitely ordering the full size product.

This smells awful.
I received this as a sample. The smell is very strong and it reminds me of AXE body spray. Also very difficult to work through your scalp.
