hello and welcome
I am absolutely amazed by this brand of charcoal fluoride free toothpaste. I've tried another one and immediately tossed it in the GARBAGE.
HELLO left my mouth totally fresh feeling and whitened better than a regular toothpaste with fluoride. You have got to try this product and WELL.CA please keep this product for us. Out of 10 it's a 11

LOVE IT ( but Messy)
I was given this fluoride free toothpaste to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel but had been looking at trying charcoal toothpaste for a little while now. When I opened the box the Hello Marketing really stood out and from someone who is particular about aesthetics in their house, I found them really cute and clever.
What I loved:
+ Fluoride free toothpaste with a simple ingredient panel
+ I noticed a whiter smile! As a lover of coffee and red wine this one was a real plus!
+ They specify using BPA and Phtalate-free tubes.
+ not tested on animals
+ toothpaste tastes great and leaves my mouth feeling like clean
+ I actually found the grey black colour kind of fun !
What I didn't love:
+ with a young family of 3, I was not a big fan of the mess that was left behind from brushing spray and spitting. The charcoal does not stain but does need to be wipes down as it is a lot more visible than traditional toothpaste.

Sigh. Wanted to like this product!
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Having used similar products in the past I was super excited when I received the product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel!
My husband and I both used it as we have different opinions on most things (ha ha) and I figured we could maybe agree on this type of product and turns out - we do!!
Firstly we loved the minty freshness - despite its dark colouring that may throw some people off this product leaves your breath minty fresh! Sadly this is the only thing we liked.
We understand the color would leave some residue and rinsing would be a must after brushing and mouth wash - but I needed a wash cloth to wipe my teeth, tongue and lips when done and all day I feared I had little black specks on my lips (I didn't but I was convinced i did).
The all natural ingredients is a definite bonus and the packaging is very appealing - but I don't think I'd continue using this product unfortunately !

Takes some getting used to
I received the Hello charcoal toothpaste to test from Stellar testing panel. It’s not the first charcoal toothpaste I’ve tried. This one got my teeth squeaky clean but it’s not the best tasting if you’re used to super minty toothpastes. It made my teeth very white so it does what it’s supposed to, but I just can’t get past the taste.

Great natural tooth paste
Product received through the Stellar Product Testing panel. I had never tried a fluoride free tooth paste and was intrigued by the charcoal. It seems to be very effective! Taste is good - not overly strong and unoffensive. Leaves my teeth tasting clean. Once you get past the colour I have no complaints! I will continue to use it!

Charcoal Toothpaste
Cool new paste! I just got to try this new Charcoal based by Hello. I love the stand up bottle and eco packaging, it’s also cruelty free and has no nasty ingredients. New meaning to black teeth
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I had heard about how great charcoal toothpaste was for whitening teeth so I was excited to try this! I was happy to see there was no fluoride and other junk that isn't needed.
It is completely black- there is no other way to describe it. I was so surprised that it had the texture and taste of regular mint toothpaste. I did find I needed to use a bit more than my regular brand, but not a significant amount.
My teeth felt smooth and refreshed after using. It seemed to make my whole mouth feel super clean. I haven't noticed a huge difference in the colour of my teeth but they were not very discoloured to begin with. I will be continuing to use this tube.
I hadn't seen this product in store before but was able to find it last time I was at the drugstore for an affordable price. I only deducted a star because I need to wash my sink 10x more often.

Great toothpaste but can be messy!
I received the hello Activated Charcoal Fluoride Free Toothpaste through the Stellar Product Testing panel and was initially excited to try something new. I have used fluoride free toothpaste in the past and always felt like it just didn't give me the same confidence as other toothpastes. In saying that, I mean I never felt like my teeth were squeaky clean or my breath was as fresh. I haven't however used a charcoal toothpaste so I was pleasantly surprised when I used this and felt good! I have to say knowing it is still providing my with the benefits of a normal toothpaste but with naturally friendly ingredients is the best aspect of this toothpaste. My teeth certainly felt clean and looked great. However, be warned that this toothpaste can make a huge mess especially for someone like me who uses an electric toothbrush that can fly toothpaste everywhere! It's not a huge deal as it washes away with water but for someone who is not the neatest toothbrusher this toothpaste might not be for you!

Hello fresh & bright!
Both my husband and I surprisingly loved this combo!
I must say, I was hesitant at first, I've never tried a charcoal product and it really is black!! The foam created while brushing is dark, your teeth look dark before rinsing... but then BAM – hello white! Is it because of the contrast? Not quite! My teeth are actually slightly whiter than before using the product! I also love the flavour, it's fresh with a hint of sweetness. Beware: spit spots that get on the mirror or wall are black! A little more noticeable than the typical white/clear ones... but I guess in turn this helps keep your bathroom sparking clean because you can notice them ;)
I'm not a particularly keen user of mouthwash, but gave this a go. Again, a fresh taste with a hint of sweetness and a dark colour!
I was on the fence, but I can say that I truly enjoy using this product and will replenish it and continue to do so once the bottles are empty! Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this fluoride free toothpaste.

hello Activated Charcoal Toothpaste is definitely worth the try
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I started using hello Activated Charcoal Fluoride Free Toothpaste about 2 weeks ago, and along with the mouthwash, and they are working quite well for me. I received this fluoride free toothpaste from the Stellar Product Testing Panel.
The toothpaste is a black colour and will stain your toothbrush head, and you will spit a dark colour in your sink. Both something to be mindful of, but the packaging provides ample warning.
I have noticed my teeth get whiter in this short period. The toothpaste has a very soft simple taste, light and simple. The product uses naturals ingredients and contains both mint and coconut oil, both of which I am a big fan of.
I love that the product is leaping bunny certified, which ensures its vegan and not tested on animals. I will definitely continue to use the product and likely use my current toothpaste in intervals as well, as I have weak teeth to ensure I get some fluoride to help strengthen my enamel, and think you should give it a try too.

Great toothpaste!
I received this product through the Steller Product Testing Panel, and I have enjoyed using it! My teeth feel clean and my breath is fresh. I was worried about staining my sink or toothbrush, but it rinses easily. Pairs well with the charcoal mouthwash!

This left my white fillings black !!! huge mistake they are still black after brushing with hello regular and my other tooth paste serval times i hope this will correct it self in time. my next letter is to the company i want my money back asap !!!!!

Love the idea, do not love the taste
I was so excited when this arrived. I'd tried other charcoal toothpastes in the past and found them really gritty and messy, but I could tell immediately on opening it that this one was not gritty.
My excitement was somewhat halted when I tried it though. I am not a fan of the taste and the almost slippery mouth-feel it gave me after using it. I'm thinking it's the glycerin/coconut oil combo. I don't really like oily feeling things in the first place though so that is probably not an issue everyone would have! I will say the texture was almost "sticky" so if you accidentally spill some on your sink or clothing, wash it off right away.
I did find it gently whitened, after a solid week of use. Nothing dramatic, but definitely a difference.
I loved the packaging, the clear ingredients label, and that the product seemed to do as it claimed. Taste is a personal preference and was not my jam, but I am definitely wanting to try another type from Hello now! Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this fluoride free toothpaste.

Friend of mine bought this product and it has caused serious damage to their teeth, it was caused multiple black spots on their teeth. Unless you want your teeth to rot out out of your head, do not buy this product.

Black toothpaste - white smile
I recieved hello Activated Charcoal Fluoride Free Toothpaste as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel about 2 weeks ago to try out and I have to say, I'm impressed. Although admittedly when I first squeezed some paste on my brush I was a little taken aback to see it is literally black. I was terrified it was going to stain and make a huge mess of my sink and counter but it doesn't make any more of a mess than my regular toothpaste so that turned out to be a non issue.
Then came the fun part - brushing! Let me first of all say, I drink copious amounts of coffee each day and my teeth are not the whitest shade so I was skeptical that this toothpaste would do much to improve that. I was totally wrong. I am so impressed with how much lighter they are in such a short amount of time. I can honestly say this toothpaste whitens as well as, if not better than whitening strips and other DIY whitening products.
And it's not just a whitener.. it's also cleaning my teeth! Bonus! My breath is minty fresh and my mouth feels clean. I can't ask for more in a toothpaste, honestly.

So been using this for a decent month and was getting to the bottom of the last of it and a ball of hair comes out with the paste so this is one less toothpaste ima be buying again on to the next!!!

Say hello to whiter teeth and fresher breath!
I have tried several activated charcoal toothpastes in the past but this one was by far my favourite. Despite having charcoal, the texture of this paste is very smooth. It actually tastes good, sweet but not too sweet. It made my mouth feel clean and minty fresh. I'm a huge fan of the naturally friendly ingredients and that hello offers the choice of a fluoride-free toothpaste for those looking for an alternative. Despite the black colour of the paste (and my teeth while brushing with it), my teeth felt super clean and there was no black residue after rinsing. Things could get a little messy using a black toothpaste, but I found a quick rinse of the sink quickly cleared away any black residue and did not leave my sink looking dirty. The best thing about this toothpaste, aside from the natural ingredients, is that I found after a few days of brushing, my teeth actually appeared whiter. Overall this is a high-performing toothpaste that delivers on results and one I can feel good about using and recommending to family and friends. Didn't love it enough to buy again
I was excited to try the hello Activated Charcoal Fluoride Free Toothpaste particularly because it is fluoride free. While it did leave my mouth feeling clean and fresh, I didn't love the texture and the colour can be hard to look past when you want shining white teeth. I didn't notice that my teeth were any whiter or cleaner than my regular toothpaste. If you don't floss daily, be sure to give your teeth a good inspection and rinse before leaving for the day as I noticed several times that the toothpaste left a blackish colour in between a couple of my teeth before I flossed (not necessarily a bad thing, I want to be as thorough as possible when cleaning my teeth and if it points out a spot or two that I've missed that's great, it's just something to be aware of before you head off for that job interview or first date ;) You'll need to give the sink a wipe down after each use as well to get rid of the black splatter marks (which the product does mention on the package), but with 3 little boys, I'm not looking to add to my list of things to clean first thing in the morning! Black toothpaste is a big winner
I started using the hello Activated Charcoal Fluoride Free Toothpaste a few weeks ago and was really pleasantly surprised with it! At first glance it looked shockingly black, but I’ve used charcoal on my teeth before so I had some idea of what to expect.
Brushing my teeth with it was nice, it wasn’t as black as when it went on the toothbrush. My teeth felt really clean and mouth freshened afterwards. It didn’t deliver quite the minty punch that I’m used to, but was more gentle. It tasted really good too!
I can’t say that I noticed much difference in the whiteness of my teeth, but I find that with most whitening toothpastes.
I also used the hello black mouthwash, and it was great! Really tasty and my mouth felt so refreshed afterward. Like the toothpaste, it didn’t have the intense burn that a lot of mouthwashes have, so I’d be comfortable giving it to my kids when they’re old enough to use mouthwash.
I’m pumped that the ingredients are natural as well, as I’m trying to shift my family over to more natural home and beauty products. I received the product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel, but will definitely use it in future for my family.

charcoal toothpaste makes bright white teeth!
hello Activated Charcoal Fluoride Free toothpaste is great. It made my mouth and feel clean and fresh with a pleasant, subtle minty taste. My teeth looked white and bright after brushing with this toothpaste, it has a smooth texture and easily spreads across all my teeth evenly. I have been using the toothpaste for about 3 weeks now and it took a while to get used to the colour while brushing, but I have no complaints about it's performance as a toothpaste. It is the first non major brand toothpaste I have tried and I am happy I did. Natural and eco friendly products are important to me and I am happy to have replaced my old toothpaste with this hello Activated Charcoal Fluoride Free toothpaste.
The reason I gave this toothpaste 4 stars instead of 5 is because it is MESSY. The package warns you to be careful when you spit and it is a necessary warning. I was careful and still ended up with charcoal spit drops all over my bathroom sink, counter and sometimes they went even further. I had to wipe my counter and sink up after each time I brushed my teeth, just splashing the water to rinse the sink was not enough.

Pleasantly surprised
I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I'll admit that my initial reaction was that the whole activated charcoal thing is a fad and gimmicky. I was pleasantly surprised upon using it. It feels just like a regular toothpaste when brushing and made my mouth feel minty fresh afterwards. Not to mention my teeth feel quite smooth after as well. I was still skeptical of the whitening capabilities, but as a toothpaste, i really like it. The only downside is that it is fluoride free so you would not be getting the benefits of that. Because of this, at first I did a second brush with a fluoride toothpaste and then eventually just started putting both on my brush at the same time. The taste was still fine as they were both mint. After using for over a week, to my surprise, I actually do notice a difference in teeth colour! I do think that it helps to remove surface stains, but the does not do real deep whitening that bleach based whiteners would do. I am very happy with surgave stain removal though. My overall feeling of this toothpaste is that I, it tastes great, makes your mouth feel clean, and does what it says it will do. I really like it but only gave it 4 stars because of the lack fluoride.

Great natural toothpaste
I'm used to brushing my teeth after getting dressed but with the black colour of this toothpaste I felt more comfortable brushing before getting dressed, to avoid any possible clothing stains. I use an electric toothbrush and it sometimes gets a bit messy so just wanted to be safe rather than sorry.
The consistency of this toothpaste is in line with other natural brands I've tried in the past, kind of thin and gooey but I did not find this to be an issue. Love using a product with all clean ingredients!! The taste is awesome, not excessively minty in that burning kind of way, but definitely a fresh and minty taste. I was also pleased that there wasn't a noticeable coconut taste as I'm not a fan of coconut and coconut oil is a major ingredient in this product. After use my teeth definitely looked and felt clean, but I did not notice any significant whitening and I found that the "clean mouth" feeling wore off really quickly.
The packaging is cute and unique though I would prefer if it were recyclable/compostable, considering all the other natural elements of this brand. I would absolutely buy this toothpaste again as it's the best natural toothpaste I've tried!

Just the right amount of freshness
I’ve tried other activated charcoal teeth products before, and they’d always left a sandy/chalky feeling in my mouth after. This toothpaste is not at all like this! It feels so smooth, you forget it’s even different. The taste is so fresh, and just when you’re about to think it might be too much, it settles and feels just right. One of my worries was that I might need to brush my teeth again to make sure there’s no black left (which I had to do with other products), but again, this toothpaste exceeded my expectations. Once you’re done, your teeth feel and look clean. It hasn’t been long enough to say if they got whiter, but they definitely don’t look worse! The only con I have to say is that, having 3 boys at home, their toothbrush-ing etiquette was already questionable, but now it’s apparent how messy they are. If you have people in your household that don’t wash up after themselves in the washroom, then did this might be challenging for you or the perfect opportunity for them to change their habits! Because there’s a reason they write “please spit responsibly “ (which I love they acknowledge as a potential issue). Side note, I love the design of the product itself. It feels like a nice blend of mainstream, natural, and totally pro.

Making the Switch to Charcoal
I was given this fluoride free toothpaste to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.
I am a working mom and usually am brushing my teeth while multitasking in to get ready at light speed! I am a mom to a toddler girl who really enjoyed watching Mama’s teeth turn black! After having a baby, I am finding myself looking to make the switch to natural products. This toothpaste checks all of the boxes and I love that about this product.
I enjoyed this product for the most part due to the fact that it is made from all natural ingredients, had a great taste (minty like most other toothpastes and no bizarre aftertaste) and left my teeth and mouth feeling and looking super clean! I have been using the toothpaste for approximately 4 weeks morning and night and have noticed its whitening effects.
I was very skeptical at first when I opened up the tube to find the opaque, black colour of the toothpaste. It is definitely something that you need to get used to. I was pleasantly surprised to find that using the black toothpaste did not bother me one bit in the end as it left my teeth with a super smooth feeling that reminded me of that first time feeling of getting your braces off!
The only complaint I had about this product is the mess that it makes in the sink. Typical toothpaste doesn’t stain your sink but it might be worth the switch for an all natural product!

Love This Natural Toothpaste!
I've been using the Activated Charcoal Fluoride-Free toothpaste from hello for the last few weeks and I've been loving it!
First of all the packaging is right up my alley. Clean, simple design is such a joy and it looks great sitting on my bathroom counter. Don't worry though this toothpaste is more than just a pretty face, it gets the job done and leaves your mouth feeling clean and fresh. One of my favourite things about this natural toothpaste (aside from having an ingredients list that a dummy like me can actually read) is that it doesn't leave that weird fake-minty taste in your mouth that makes everything taste off afterwards. My mornings are always a bit of blur so it's nice to be able to brush my teeth and grab a quite bite of breakfast without gagging my way through the latter.
Not going to lie, the first time you squeeze out pitch black toothpaste onto your brush will throw you for a bit of a loop but the product is so great that you'll stop thinking about it after the first brushing.
My only really knock against this product is that I didn't find that it made a major difference in terms of teeth whitening. This certainly wouldn't stop me from using hello toothpaste again but an "epic whitening" experience it was not.

I was totally blown away by this toothpaste and look forward to buying it as well. I would love to share my reasons for this after using the toothpaste over the last couple of weeks and my experience.
To start off I have never used a charcoal fluoride free toothpaste before. What I found is that you don't need to apply a lot to see the immediate effects unlike many other toothpastes out there.
It removes surface stains without much brushing needed, thus not wearing out your enamel.
With fresh mint and coconut oil, the activated carbon, not only freshens your breath, but also gives you a squeaky clean set of teeth at the end. You expect your teeth to be black and may be hesitant at first, but it actually whitens your teeth multiple fold.
The reason I feel attached to this brand and keep buying it is that it supports my ideals as well. It uses high quality ingredients and is also vegan, as it doesn't test it on animals. There are no parabens, artificial ingredients or sweeteners etc. The tubes are also BPA and phthalate free and of course, we all know the benefits of coconut oil for our teeth.
I will definitely be buying this in stores and using and supporting this brand. It goes well with a set of the mouthwash from the brand that is equally amazing and natural in it's quality of ingredients and results.
