Unexpected visit, unexpected fave
Out of all the Hagrid’s hut set attempts, this is finally one worthy to display near my castle. This version gives me the feeling of the original 2001 build with the fully enclosed octagonal hut that can still be opened up for play. The building techniques are interesting for an adult builder but they also weren’t difficult. There is a great armchair for the Hagrid figure, a fantastic new print for Hagrid, an updated Norbert, and a very welcome inclusion of Fang. The doghouse that looks like the hut is a fun little bonus, I added some of my leftover 1x1 round plates to the doghouse doorway to be able to attach the front paw to a stud. Such a good little cottage!

Overall Enjoyable Build
I enjoyed building this set and it may be my favourite version of Hagrid's hut so far! My only problem with it is the fact that the instructions tell you to place the tree stump against the wall that doesn't have a window. Draco is meant to stand on the stump to peer into the window but there isn't one on that wall. I ended up building the stump and pumpkin patch side-builds backwards so that I could correct this and have Draco standing on the window side. Otherwise, this is a fantastic set!

lovely woth some design flaws
Overall an attractive set with an impressive level of detail for the price point. Our main gripe is the design of the roof, which is finicky to put together and prone to falling apart at the slightest touch, a problem compounded by the fact that the set's playability relies on manually removing and replacing the roof to open and close the hut. A better design would have reinforced the roof's structure in some way rather than relying so much on tiny angled clips to keep whole sections in place.
