More Than Meets the Eye
I spent 5 HRS building it since I want to cherish the building process.. it reminds me when I was watching G1 episodes wishing that I have an Optimus Prime toy... now that I can afford it.. after soo many years.. I was able to build my own Optimus Prime.. I'll get another one since the one I have is intended to be displayed with my Lego Collection.. these are my feedback
the gap between eyes and the face shield must be fixed.. trying to find a way to MOD it.
the head shape and design could be more better.. it is acceptable but I think it can still be modified to be G1 accurate.
Headlights should be square
Autobot Insignia should be blank on the right shoulders
I find the blue color a bit too dark.. it should be more of Blue tone rather than a dark blue hue.. but still works though.. just nitpicking
Over ALL verdict.. Lego has done a good job in creating this set.. a true Must have master piece that every Lego collector must have... Can't wait for other Transformers character to be released.. a G1 Ultra Magnus will be awesome since they have prime already as a basis for it.. a big fan of Ultra Magnus than prime

Awesome build! Great to display! A++++
I have been waiting for a Transformers set ever since they released Voltron. They definitely made my day with this set. This set was so much fun to build. It is incredibly sturdy. There is some amount of repetition, considering that he is symmetrical. He transforms almost exactly like the G1 action figure. I’m a little disappointed that there are gaps in the pieces when you transform him into truck mode. But, overall, I extremely loved building this set. I’m hoping they can release another Transformers set.

Beautifully engineered, Kragle may be required
I grew up watching the cartoons and playing with the original toys, but never had the original Optimus Prime, so I snagged this guy on release date. The build experience is a lot of fun, although I made a few mistakes on the build, so I had to redo a few steps.
Playing with it is a bit tougher, though. Although I can always rebuild it if parts break off (unlike with the original G1 toys), parts will pop off while transforming it, making it more of a display piece. The hip joint might need replacing, though (parts 6365679 / 6369944).
Apart from that, it's a beautiful feat of design and engineering.

"No matter the cost"
Another excellent set from Lego! Optimus is a set no one expected, yet my expectations have been shattered. A perfect set for Lego and Transformers fans alike, Optimus draws attention no matter where you put him.
Pros:
The overall piece is very solid,
Optimus is very posable,
the transformation is smooth and intuitive, very reminiscent of the original G1 toy,
vibrant and huge, giving a great shelf presence
Cons:
The chest occasionally disconnects from the torso, but this is a very minor complaint that can be easily remedied.
Overall, I could not recommend this set more.

Finally Optimistic
This is arguably the best Lego product Lego has produced. The scale is the perfect size and Optimus is a great display piece. The use of tiles to make the piece complete was greatly appreciated. The build process was fun and engaging. Well worth the wait! Building fans of all genres can enjoy the build process in this as none of it seemed tedious and boring. I can’t emphasize enough how the use of tiles greatly increased the final visual appearance of the model.
Now to get on with the rest of the transformers! Bring on Megatron, Soundwave, Starscream and Bumblebee!

Transformers and LEGO fan so awesome kit. Build was a bit too simple. Head / face design could be more accurate and realistic. Overall great kit, LEGO should put out more Transformers.

Can’t finish. Missing pieces
I’ve bought quite a few Lego sets and this is the first set missing pieces. My 5th bag is missing at least two pieces and I haven’t checked my 6-10th bags. Consequently there’s no way for me to finish this build and it is very frustrating.
There may be a Quality Control issue with this set so I would recommend trying other sets instead.
