The healthiest hair colour!
I am very pleased with how healthy and simple the ingredients in this hair colour are. I was worried about making the switch from conventional chemical dyes at the salon to natural henna, but I am so glad I did! Not only did the colour turn out beautiful, but my hair is also shinier, smoother, and softer. Even the split ends are improved. And I feel great knowing I’m not applying harsh chemicals to my body.
Taking off one star only because of how long and tedious the process is. Between the mixing of the powder, the application, the 3.5 hour wait, and the rinsing out, it took around six hours. But based on online tutorials and reviews, this seems pretty typical.

The Best! Why did Well.ca Take It Away?
This is the best henna I've ever found for natural red hair. It's gives a subtle boost to your natural shades if you leave it on for 30min, or a gorgeous permanent boost if you leave it on for over an hour.
You can still purchase it from other suppliers so I'm not sure why Well.ca says it's been discontinued. I even asked the company and they said it's very much still available. Please bring this back!

This is my go-to hair colour
I'm a natural redhead whose hair colour began to fade from lack of sun throughout COVID. It still looked red, but had lost its natural red punch. I started using Light Mountain's Light Red in November and it is almost identical to my natural red, except with the punch that had faded away. I love it and it has me feeling like my old, redheaded self again. My hair still has strong red undertones so I only leave it on for 90-120 min and wash it out quickly. I have a few natural blonde streaks in my hair and this product gave them a gorgeous, strawberry-blonde flair.
I purchased a few other henna hair products in red that I stand-tested before doing my whole head and Light Mountain Light Red was easily the most gorgeous colour. It looks SO natural.
The first time you use it, you will do your whole head (after a strand test to make sure you like the colour and that it responds well to your hair). This will be a messy day and I recommend having a friend help you. After the first time, you only need to do your roots as this henna fades to a very natural looking red and stays beautiful. Root touch-ups are a learning curve but quickly become a breeze if you follow any of the henna hair walkthrough videos on YouTube.
I'm in love with this product and cannot recommend it highly enough. It's a very subtle saviour for natural redheads looking to strengthen their existing red colour if/when it fades.
Note: Do not panic when you first die your hair as the colour will look Orange! This is called the "orange panic" and I promise you it will fade after a new weeks. You can use a blow dryer to help it oxidize more quickly. I added olive oil after researching ways to subdue it. I also cried a lot and hid in my house as much as possible, but I promise the shock of orange does fade after 2-4 weeks.
