Eating a well-balanced diet, according to
Canada's Food Guide, and taking a daily prenatal multivitamin helps
ensure the health of mother and baby. Continuing to take a prenatal
multivitamin during the breastfeeding months is also important. Your
body needs extra vitamins and minerals to keep both you and baby healthy
during the lactation/postpartum period.
Suggested Dose: Women 19 years of age or older: One tablet daily with food prior to conception, during pregnancy and when breastfeeding. Take a few hours before or after taking other medications.
Caution: Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. If taking other supplements, read the label, as other supplements may contain the same ingredients. In case of accidental overdose, contact a physician or poison control centre immediately. There is enough iron in the package to seriously harm a child. Keep out of reach of children.

non-medicinal ingredients
was taking these until the raspberry flavoring had me questioning things. Artificial flavor, and 4 lines of non medicinal ingredients. One of them being sucrose (a synthetic chemical to make the 2 second swallow of the pill taste sweet) and the other is shellac (made from bugs to make the pill shiny) and thats not even going in depth or mentioning the artificial flavor and its many unlisted ingredients to create it. Its easy to find a brand that keeps things simple, with more folic acid. It's unfortunate this is such a household brand.

Best Prenatal Vitamin
I have tried 4 or 5 brands and Nestle materna is by far the best one. I was taking one prior that made my first trimester nausea a nightmare but after switching to nestle I immediately had some relief.

I have used materna with my first son 12 years ago and now with my newborn. It’s great! My babies are healthy and so am I. It works! I still take it even after giving birth while breastfeeding!

I found that this is the best pre-natal. I tried others brands too , but those did not suited me. I got constipated & got some hemorrhoids with others. But materna is best with no side effects.
