It’s written Anti- Acne, but gives you more acne
I bought this product to clear up my acne. It said it was recommended by dermatologist. My skin was never dry, but after using this product, my skin became so dry and it caused so many breakouts. Even when I moisturize, it’s still dry. I have a huge weird looking pimple because of this product.

Did not work!
Tried this for the second time and it left my face blotchy and with more acne. My face it red and itchy all the time and I can’t seem to moisturize it or get it back to its normal tone. Would not recommend this product to anyone with sensitive skin

Irritated and swollen
After the 2nd day of using the product I felt a pimple on my chin and my face was getting tight and dry. By the 3rd day I was swollen under my eyes and blotchy. I discontinued the product and the swelling stayed for 2 days and the dryness on my chin was peeling and very rough. Benadryl did not help with the swelling either. My skin type is normal with oily Tzone. Judging from other comments, this product seems to cause reactions to some users.

Not for everyone
For a while my friends have been raving about this product, so I ended up buying it to try it out and see if it is as good as they say it was. It wasn't. Having combination skin I expected this product to not leave my skin overly dry and just to keep in some moisture. I was wrong. Instead it I ended up breaking out and it left my skin VERY dry, itchy along with red spots.

This product should be behind the counter
This product is far too chemical/acidic to be over-the-counter. I have combination skin so I need a cleanser that fights blemishes without drying; which is what this product claims.
However, it burnt my skin. I woke up with swollen eye lids and cheeks. Broke out in hives that turned into white heads two days later. Five days later I still have bumpy and irritated skin.

Cleared Hormonal Acne
I have tried a lot of face washes (including expensive brands) and this one is the best for clearing my acne (and the most cost effective!). I'm surprised by so many poor reviews. It does not have any of the bad acne causing ingredients (which is actually hard to find in a face wash) and the salicylic acid seems to be what my skin needs to stay clear. Highly recommend.

Chemical Burns
I used this product ONCE and the outcome was chemical burns on my entire face and neck. Resulting from this was tiny blisters all over my forehead, and then an extreme breakout everywhere- even under my eyebrows. I went to the doctor and am now on a 3 day cycle of prednisone. I looked up reviews after this happened to me and 95% of people have all had the same issue. Why this product is still on the shelf is beyond me! I will never buy another Neutrogena product again in my life- cannot be trusted.

Love neutrogena but not this product
I typically use Neutrogena oil-free acne wash but unfortunately, they were out of stock and decided to buy this one as a replacement thinking it was the same thing just grapefruit scented. Boy was I wrong the first two days it cleared up my acne instantly but on day three my face started getting red itchy and extremely dry which was unusual as I typically have really oily skin. I think the products that make it smell like grapefruit are too harsh on my skin and would recommend the non-scented one.

Don't waste your money buying this product
So this is my first and last time buying a neutrogena facial wash.
It's been 1 week now since I started using this wash and it made my face worst.
Before using this product I had blemishes and blackheads. I was looking for something new at the drug store and came across this product. Everything on the bottle that I read sounded good, it even smelled good too, so I thought to myself I had to try it.
Biggest regret...
My face now have pimples, and it's so tender when you touch it. I don't know what's going on. I wished that I read the reviews before purchasing this grapefruit wash. Please if you're reading this and is considering buying this product, please read all the reviews, don't be like me who only read the reviews after purchase.
Buyers beware, DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!

Ouch
After 3 washes, my face is so red and burnt, that it’s painful to smile. My chin and around my lip line is covered in tiny white bumps/blisters, which are also painful. Judging by the other reviews, I’m not the only one experiencing this. I’ve used product containing salicylic acid before and never experienced anything like this.
The rest of my face is so dry, it feels like sandpaper, even after multiple layers of vitamin c oil and moisturizer.
Do not buy this if you value your skin.

Doesn't solve it for me
Sure, technically it is for oily skin cus it dries it out. But my skin just pumps a ton of oil after being dried out like this. This happens with the Neutrogena products that I've tried. I tried Burt's Bees anti-blemish exfoliant and it worked really well and left me with so much less acne in a few days. Maybe it's just my skin but all this product does is force my skin to produce more oil. Now I cant finish the bottle and idon have anything to do w it. Get something more natural

Hopeful but disappointed
I got a care package of the Neutrogena grapefruit products for Christmas. Since that day, I've only used the face wash products 3 times. My skin is very dry and peeling. My face is constantly itchy and red. my skin feels tight, and impossible to work with. I've applied lotion to my face multiple times and it's still not working. I was very hopeful for the products to work because I've struggled with break outs for years now. This product really left me disappointed.

LOVE this stuff!
I have been using this product for 4 months (I just bought a new bottle) and I am seriously in love with this stuff. I've used soooo many cleansers and none of them compare to this stuff!
With other cleansers, I see results for the first week and that is it. With this cleaner it took time to see results but WOW, it clears your skin and the future breakouts are not bad at all!
I cannot wait to use the new Grapefuit Moisturizer once my old moisturizer is gone!

Harsh
I bought this cleanser a few months ago. Felt great and seemed to be working on clearing summer acne. However, after a while skin started reacting to various products that I commonly used. I eventually gave up every cosmetic and skincare product that I was using. But the skin kept getting worse. Only concern I had before was that it was oily, and had uneven skin tone and acne scars. Now, it's super sensitive, bumpy all over, rashes appear out of nowhere and area around my mouth and chin is super dry, in fact peels at times. Spend quite some amount of money for lip products thought it was my makeup, as neutrogena never did this to me.
Last week I quit using it and the symptoms disappeared. Now hoping my skin heals.
I'm usually a fan of neutrogena products But wanted to bring it to people attention, as this product could be quite abrasive.

Bad experience
I bought this product and used it 2 days in a row. The first time it burned a bit and made my face red for a short time, the second day no burning but by that night my whole face was so dry, it looked like I had burnt it in the sun and it was peeling. It's itchy and feels irritated. I won't be using again. Just so people are aware. It looks like many other have had the same issue

Got skin burns and rashes
I bought this product just 2 days ago. I started using it just in 3rd wash my face just became too dry even my skin is flaking. I have normal to oily skin but after using this product my face is just burning even I put anything on my face. Worst experience ever using this cleanser. My skin is still not ok, I am still suffering from extreme dry and flaky skin and even burning.

Love Neutrogena but this is horrible
I tried this product because i had heard good things about it. It started out great but after about a week of using it my chin went scaly and red and bumpy not to mention so painful feels like my skin will rip open. You could see the large dry patches under my makeup... I have very oily skin and this has just made it super dry... i would not recommend this product to anyone!

Dried My Skin Out
I love the other products in this line, but unfortunately, this facial cleanser was definitely too harsh. The skin around my mouth, eyes, and nose started to peel and flake after a couple days of using this. I have yet to encounter issues with dry skin until now - unfortunately, this ended up being a painful lesson to learn.

Skin rash and swollen eyes!
I have been using this product for two days and it has made my face all bumpy, a red rash has formed on my neck and my eyes are swollen! Very disappointed and it has made my face incredibly sore and tight. I do not usually have sensitive skin and I have never reacted this way to a cleanser before.

Terrible!
I thought this face wash was great until the second day when my entire face turned into a giant rash. It was so red, itchy and burning. I was awaiting for my normal skincare in the mail and picked this up for the time being. What a mistake :(

Doesn't do much...
This didn't do anything for my face. It didn't make my acne worse but it didn't make it better either. I give it a 2 because it has a nice scent, is good at removing makeup, oil, and dirt, but doesn't help fight acne.
