Love this monitor!
Image and sound quality are astounding. Yes, the app still needs work. If I open another app on my phone then go back to the Owlet app my background sound isn’t affected but I often get a spinning circle instead of camera video. I’ve started to just close the app entirely automatically and reopen. Sounds like a pain, but it takes 5 seconds as the app loads very quickly. This has never happened to me when I leave the app open as a monitor, only when I leave the application.
I enjoy the background audio option, you continue to hear via the monitor whether you’re in another app or have your screen locked. This way, while I’m sleeping I don’t need to leave my phone screen on the entire night but can still hear very clearly.
Also if you plan to pair both the sock and camera to the app they work great together. I never thought I would want the owlet sock, but after receiving it as a gift, we will most certainly be using the owlet camera and sock for future babies.
