Effective at removing buildup

I found the Pantene Charcoal shampoo very effective in cleaning away and stripping the build up of product from my hair leaving it much lighter to the touch and healthier looking. I would highly recommend this product for anyone that uses hair styling products that tend to leave a residue like Mousses and gels and hairsprays.

Great detox shampoo

My hair looked great after using it once, as well stayed clean for days. Gave it some extra volume too, which was nice! The scent was nice and floral, but could be a bit strong to those who are sensitive.

Basic shampoo

The ingredient list of the shampoo did not include charcoal, which is very surprising. Also the color of the product was off , for it to include charcoal. It has a nice smell and washes hair well but other than that it is a basic shampoo.

Highly recommended.

My hair is so soft and easy to control. It contains Pro-V blend of pro vitamin B5 and anti-oxidants, also 0% parabens which is what I am looking for. Also my hair smells so good even my husband noticed about it.

Cleansing Shampoo

T scent was a little overwhelming and irs more of cleansing shampoo.
This shampoo is more for people with buildup to deep cleanse the scalp not for daily use.
I would recommened this anyone who uses products daily to remove the buildup and not for a daily wash shampoo

Great Product

The smell is a bit chemical at first but smells good on the second day. Feels good on the hair while using it and rinses out completely. I do wish it was a bit more hydrating.

Appearances Càn be Misleading!
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Impossible to believe at first sight what Pantene Pro-V Charcoal Shampoo Purifying Root Wash states - by its very dull, lack luster black liquid and ingredients list but it actually works.
I was very hesitant at trying the shampoo simply because of the colour but the scent is quite pleasant and even more empowering when lathered in hair. Its luxurious and smooth textured Peo-V solution coated and hydrated my curvy long locks and formed an almost perfect lather and I felt an instant lift of purification.
Since my hair needs mega-hydration from alÄş hair products I use, I was somewhat surprised how this 'unusual-looking' shampoo satisfied my daily hair demands. Matter of fact, to reap the full benefits of thè Charcoal Shampoo Purifying Root Wash, one has to follow the instructions to a tee.
I truly recommend this shampoo and don't let yourself be fooled by the colour...

Love this product

Great smell, moisturizing

It still has that distinctive Pantene smell but it's light and refreshing. I love the volume it gives to my curly hair. The other clarifying shampoo I've used dried out my hair, but this doesn't. This shampoo is one I would buy again!

This Pantene Pro-V Charcoal Purifying Root Wash Shampoo has activated charcoal in it which helps to remove impurities and buildup, while refreshing and revitalizing hair. It has no parabens, silicone or dyes and is safe for colour-treated hair. I was able to use this shampoo for the last few weeks and I instantly noticed that my hair seemed to stay cleaner, longer. I do struggle with an oily scalp and noticed that this shampoo was able to alleviate a lot of my issues with this. I went from having to wash my hair daily, to having to wash it maybe every two to three days, which makes my morning routine so much easier. My hair is now so soft, shiny and smells amazing! The scent is intoxicating with hints of mint, amber and water lily. My only issue with this shampoo is that it gets a gunk build-up at the spout. I have already purchased this shampoo again as it is affordable and clearly works well with my oily scalp and colour-treated hair. I have recommended it to friends and family.

Pantene Pro-V Charcoal Purifying Root Wash shampoo claims to remove impurities and buildup while leaving your hair feeling refreshed and revitalized. Unlike many other products that don't live up to their claims, Pantene Pro-V Charcoal Purifying Root Wash actually does. I have very thick hair that gets extremely heavy while washing and I also have wavy/curly hair that comes with a lot of frizz. So, I tend to use oils and only wash my hair 1-2 times per week, which leads to a lot of buildup. The first time I used this product I noticed the difference as soon as I started washing my hair with the shampoo. I enjoyed the way it lathered and removed the buildup from my hair. It didn't weigh my hair down and strain my neck from how heavy my hair gets while washing it like i normally experience. My hair felt lighter and actually clean. The refreshing scent is also enjoyable and adds to the experience of feeling like you are actually getting your hair clean. My hair didn't only feel lighter as I was washing it, but also felt lighter throughout the week as I continued adding more styling products to my hair. I can't say that I have any complaints about this product. I believe Pantene Pro-V Charcoal Purifying Root Wash shampoo holds up to what they say about removing the buildup from your hair. I will continue to use this shampoo and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a product to remove all of the buildup in their hair.

Gentle, thorough cleaning with charcoal
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I have long, beyond-my-shoulder-length, curly hair, that tends to frizz at the first spot of humidity. Due to my hatred of fly-away, free-flowing locks, I tend to use product to keep things smooth and frizz-free. This frequently causes build-up that can make my hair dull and listless despite almost daily washing with shampoo and conditioner. Shampoos that clean away the product tend to be too harsh to keep hair healthy-looking. I was looking forward to trying the Pantene Charcoal Shampoo Purifying Root Wash, since charcoal is, surprisingly, a fabulous medium for cleaning. Having charcoal as a cleaning agent is something that would be a hard sell to the general product. I was impressed Pantene would be bold enough to bring it to market.
The shampoo is clear with a slight black haze to it. The texture is similar to most other shampoos. There seemed to me to be very little scent; just a natural clean aroma. It foamed well with a small amount. Typically I applied two pumps for all over use. When Toronto hit a week of 32+°C with humidity making it feel like 40+°C I regularly added a third pump to get my scalp feeling extra fresh after sweating all day long.
The Pantene Charcoal Shampoo Purifying Root Wash left my hair and scalp feeling squeaky clean and light. It didn't dry out my hair but still removed all traces of product that I used the day before. I was very happy with it. The bonus to the results is that the shampoo itself has NO PARABENS, DYES, or SILICONES.
If you are looking for a gentle, but powerful cleaning shampoo, this is definitely a product you need to test drive. It is well worth the price for the results that are achieved.
