I regret buying this trimmer
It’s hard to imagine any testing got done with this trimmer since light use would have shown that the clips which attach the adjustable head were cheap and the design was poor. Mine, like most other users, broke soon after purchase.
I thought I could manage with the one side broken and kept using the trimmer. The trimmer head now pops off while trimming my beard and pulls my beard hair rather than clipping it. I regret buying this product. I’ve gone back to using my old QT4050 (which this was supposed to replace). It sounds like a jet plane as it clips my beard but at least it works.

Don't waste your money
I made the mistake in purchasing one of these Trimmers a couple years back and I fully regret it. Once you have removed the blades to clean out the hair canister enough times it will not clip back into the body of the trimmer properly, so when you are in the middle of trimming your beard the tip will pop off. So you have to go about turning the trimmer to reseat the blades about every 30 seconds, turns a 10 min job into a 25 min job. Very poorly designed and executed. I threw mine out this morning as it is a piece of junk.

Does not work as intended
This is my 2nd Philips vacuum beard trimmer and I was quite disappointed. It looks looks nice and sleek, but functionally it does not work as intended. First, it does not vacuum well - most of the hair falls down. Next, hair gets all over the unit. It is very difficult to get the hair out of the machine and it gets trapped all over the place. My older trimmer had a compartment for the hair and this seemed to work better. In terms of trimming, you can get a good trim with the guard off, but it is tough to get straight cuts when trying to place the blade flat against your face. I would go for the non-vacuum trimmer models instead.

Would not buy this unit again
The two tabs which hold the blade part in place broke off so now it keeps popping off when switched on so it's now totally unusable. These tabs are just far too flimsy.
Battery holds charge for a long time so no need to take the charger on a trip of up to a month. However, the unit can easily switch itself on, thereby draining the battery, when it's stowed in luggage. So one has to be careful on how it's placed in luggage.
The vacuum feature retains, perhaps a maximum 70% of the hair.

Very delicate breakable parts
The actual blade part has two plastic tabs that hold it in place. They break easily. If one breaks off it's still usable but when both break off the head won't stay in place when turned on. Shaver needs cleaning frequently which entails removing two parts. I am disappointed. I own another trimmer by Philips which is much sturdier and an effective trimmer...I can't give you the model number as I've had it so long the number is erased!!

Great concept, poor execution!
As most other reviews, the tiny plastic hooks are just too flimsy and will wear out or even break. On this model the head keeps popping off during use because the two plastic clips are weakly designed. Also the machine has got too many small corners making it a pain to clean. I had an earlier model before where the flimsy plastic hook to the compartment also broke. I think I'm done with Philips. I liked the idea of the vacuum though, so a shame...

Philips you could do better
My third Philips beard trimmer in the row after QT4070 and it's previous version, and probably the less satisfying. Same as previous products this trimmer has a good battery life, fast charging and comfortable to held. Major improvement comparing to my previous trimmers id a stainless steel head, which slides great and with precision of 0.5mm.
Major problem is vacuum chamber that just can't be cleaned, its shape prevents from hair to fell out, provided brush doesn't do the job as well. So there always be a hair in your machine, unacceptable for me.

Didn’t last as long as my other Philips products
I agree with many of the reviews. The concept of the vacuum is fantastic and it does work quite well. What is disappointing is the parts are flimsy and one of the tabs that hold the head in place broke off while I was cleaning it. The unit also didn’t last more than a couple of years before it wouldn’t hold a charge anymore. I would not buy this particular model again.
