Advanced, fast, close shave, Not perfect
Nothing is perfect, if it is, it should last for ever. I like the new different design , cuts close, battery last very long, you can charge from your PC, or your cell phone 5 volts charger.
But, and but: because of the shaver angled heads, you got to lift your nose to reach there to shave that place.
The second but, is the hair compartment is small , gets full fast , needs more often to be emptied. Comparing to my also new series 3000 . Both shave well, the 3000 series, is the ultimate design and can not have better advancements. The 5000 series is a nice advancement, and shave closer, but we shall see more adjustments in the future. The new designers should work harder, and get more education at Phillips.
My father, a doctor, in the 60's had bone color , plastic Philips, electric only, shaver. My father and I, we always used Philips to shave and groom ,cut, hair.
We never use any other brand, this is not a publicity for Phillips.Excellent quality.

Very happy with the product
I had an old Philips rechargeable razor that worked really well and lasted a very long time. (25+ years) I was travelling for an extended period recently and forgot to take the charger so bought this new one. I am very happy! Similar features as the old one. I just give it a good rinse under running water after each use to keep it clean. Battery life on the new one is very good, 7 weeks with daily use. I like the travel pouch it comes with as I travel frequently. My only (minor) complaint is it is a little difficult to get a close shave under my nose. With a little practice however I am getting better at getting in there. Very happy!

I was quite eager
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I was quite eager to try the new Phillips 5000 shaver as i have been wanting to purchase one for a long time. Unfortunately, for me and the type of facial hair I maintain i could not seem to make it workfor myself. I found the trimmer not quite functional for the length of my beard as it didnt trim much. The shaver itself worked great in areas where the hair was short and left a smooth feel. If youshave daily or every couple days this would be a good purchase. The cleaning pod worked great.

When I first got
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) When I first got the shaver I was very skeptical because my previous experiences with this type of razor were all met with razor burn. This one has very minimal razor burn which I think for most people who regularly shave is a glowing endorsement for this shaver. It’s comfortable in my hand and the quick clean pod is a nice way to have the machine self clean. The shave overall was so so. It took a lot of passes to get a close shave but more passes means more chance for razor burn. The pop up mustache trimmer was nice but I’m not sure if I’d buy this razor

My Review for Shaver series 5000
I am unable to finish my shave with this product. It misses far to many hairs on my neck and face, I always have to finish with my blade. Weak rotary power and very expensive replacement blades. I do not believe the higher models are any better either.

Loved the product at the beginning however…
Let me start by saying that I have been using Philips shaver products for the past 35 years and overall I am happy with their products and still committed to the brand. However, In my humble opinion, the brand needs to up their game when it comes to the shavers series.
At first I loved the product, the features and the price point . I am however a bit disappointed with a few but very important criteria when it comes to the performance. The shaving head struggles to give a close shave in the upper lip and lower chin areas and also I experienced a noticeable decrease of the blade sharpness after a few months of use . I don’t have a thick facial hair, i shave every other day and clean wash the unit regularly after shaving. I used SensoTouch 9000 series before and in my opinion the product provided better results.

Quietly Comfortable
It takes me a long time to 'come online' after waking up, and during the early, bleary moments I avoid nerve jangling noise. i.e.: any thing above a whisper. This Philips 5000 is mercifully quiet. I switched to a Philips rotary shaver years ago from a foil shaver that buzzed like a loud sander. Recently I noticed that the cord on the wall charger of that shaver was disintegrating and decided to replace it with the 5000. The 5000 is even quieter! It provides an amazingly close shave - similar to a blade. Rinse to clean is a time-saver. The fluid in the quick clean pod smells great.
