The design of the handle is flawed. My first day I got the new cap, I had the bottle with the new cap drop out of the car, topple off a coffee table onto laminate flooring, and slip out of my hands over a dinner table. The handle popped off the cap each time! I never thought such a thing could happen.
As an experiment, I filled my water bottle and screwed the cap with handle on tightly and turned the bottle in its side before letting the whole thing drop from 1 foot above a carpet over laminate flooring. The handle still popped off!
My "solution" was to ever so slightly bend the ends of the handle closer together before putting the handle back on the cap. Now the handle does not swing freely as it did before. I tried my experiment again - and the handle still popped off!
And now I have a cap that has scratches all over it from me putting the handle back on, and zero confidence that the handle will hold up to use and wear.
Not a good purchase at all!!

Awesome upgrade
The lid obviously makes it easier to carry your s’well, helps prevent inevitable drops when your hands are full of other things. Having the swing handle helps with leverage to open the bottle with small/wet/cold/sore hands.
I’m sure the 3* review with the handle popping off is a result of a bent lid from unfortunately positioned falls. We have 3 bottles with this lid on them, no careful children in the house & no handles have come off, ever.

My favourite purchase to date
I originally purchased two S'well Swing caps, one for a gift and one for myself. We both love them so much I recently purchased a third for another gift. Great for frequent trips to the baseball diamond or hockey rink to ease the carrying of multiple pieces of equipment.

Great lid
I bought this lid for both of my daughters. It fits perfect on their Swell bottles, and they love that they can hold it by the handle, or hook it to their backpack. It's a bit pricey, but good quality.
