A daily support formula for all skin types, this formulation contains 100% pure Borage Seed Oil that is sustainably-sourced, organic and cold-pressed. This soothing oil contains an exceptionally high amount of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), an important essential fatty acid, as well as linoleic, oleic, stearic and palmitic acid. Borage Seed Oil offers a calming effect, helps to maintain healthy skin, and is suited well for helping to hydrate dry skin.
Directions: Apply a few drops daily or as needed to entire face ideally after water-based treatments.

Favourite face oil
This is my go to face oil. I have tried several other face oils but keep coming back to the ordinary boarge seed oil. I have purchased this at least five times. The texture is a bit thicker than a dry oil and is great when used at night after toner and lighter serums (marine hylaronic and some aloe vera gel).

HereâÂÂs the disclaimer first: IâÂÂm a huge fan of The Ordinary products. I have notoriously fussy skin and this oil was the first it really didnâÂÂt like. Sadly it didnâÂÂt calm, plus sat on my skin and refused to be absorbed. Also, please note for those sensitive to scents, it does have a noticeable herbal scent that doesnâÂÂt dissipate. Hopefully someone else will have better luck with this product. Meanwhile, IâÂÂll go back to my tried and true product trio from the Ordinary that work like a charm for me.

I used it once and had to throw it out.
I purchased The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Borage Seed Oil a couple of weeks ago and I was so excited to try it. Unfortunately I can't stand the smell. It reminds me of old turkey drippings and really, who would want to rub that on their face?! Perhaps those of us that can't stand the smell, got ours from a different production date than those who say that it doesn't have a bad smell. Thank goodness it's inexpensive!!

Great - but the odour is off-putting
I purchased this for my combination skin - i used it after the hydrating formula - and found the smell was VERY overpowering. I put a drop of essential oils with it now to combat it. I can see why companies mixed different kinds of oils together now! It can be a bit greasy and doesn't absorb very quick, but it found my skin liked it.

Because of the smell I could use it! It's way too strong! My husband said it smells like a wet dog. Not the smell you want to be associated with. Other 2 products I got (natural moisturizing factors+ he and hemi-squalane) have just a light nice smell. Love those, 5 stars. Would put no stars for this one.

Just started using it but so far yay!
I bought this because I wanted to try some moisturizer that was natural. I love this product so far and despite the reviews I notice barely any scent at all. My only issue with the product is that it leaves your skin looking oily even after leaving it on overnight. Its oil so its to be expected.

If never really absorbed into my dry/sensitive skin, and the smell was atrocious! I found it smelled like rotten meat... and it never goes away. I now use it on my feet for overnight hydration but never again on my face!

I love this oil. To me it barely has a scent. I use a drop mixed in with my moisturizer at night during the winter. I also use a couple of drops with vaseline and apply to my hands before bed to help with cracked skin and one drop over my lips to keep them soft and smooth!

Thought I should post a review since i read several negative reviews about the smell and still bought it. They must have reformulated because it’s pretty scentless overall and a great moisturizer. I use it on my belly for pregnancy . And it helps alot.

Helped restore moisture to my skin
I tend to have very dry skin, even dry patches. I’ve tried a lot of products (and drink a lot of water), and the issue persists -especially throughout the winter months. This oil has helped. It smells awful though, but I’ve gotten used to it now.

Heavy oil great for dry legs. I don't use this on my face or anything above my waistline cause damn is it STINKY. Smells like fish oil. Co-workers thought it smelled fine, but it was overpowering for sure. Good moisturizer though

The smell!
I’m generally okay with strong scents - herbal, nature odours don’t tend to bother me. But I honestly couldn’t stand this smell. It was musky and very strong. Could not use.
