A Water-Free, Stable Suspension of 30% Pure L-Ascorbic Acid in Light Silicones
Vitamin C is an effective antioxidant that helps to brighten the skin and reduce the appearance of aging. This water-free formula provides 30% pure L-Ascorbic Acid which remains completely stable due to the absence of water. Due to the presence of very light silicones, this formulation feels smooth on the skin despite the suspension format of the formulation. This treatment is ideally applied at bedtime.
Alternative products on the market offer suspensions of Vitamin C in water-free formulations in heavier silicone bases. These formulations do keep the Vitamin C stable but they are almost always offered in heavier silicone bases that interfere with efficient exposure of the entire Vitamin C content to the skin (the silicone entraps the Vitamin C). This formula avoids the use of heavy silicones to offer better exposure to the Vitamin C content. However, please note that this formulation would still offer slightly less efficient exposure to Vitamin C than The Ordinary's silicone-free Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% formula. The additional Vitamin C content (30%) in this silicone base helps offset the slight impairment to dermal exposure.
Note: The format of this formula is a suspension of very fine L-Ascorbic Acid powder and, as such, provides the most direct exposure of extremely high concentrations of Vitamin C topically. With such format, a very strong tingling but non-irritating sensation is expected during the first 1-2 weeks of use until the skin's tolerance to such high exposure is elevated. If the sensation is too strong to tolerate, the formula can be mixed on each application with other creams or serums of your preference.
Directions: Apply a small amount to face in the AM or the PM (PM preferred). A tingling sensation can be expected after application. If this sensation is too strong, this formula can be diluted on each application with your favourite serum or cream.

Vitamin C. For best results, please avoid using the following
ingredients in the same regimen:

- Peptides
- EUK 134
- Niacinamide

permanent part of my routine
I was looking for a Vitamin C product to add to my skincare routine, and landed on The Ordinary because of their excellent price and good reputation. After two weeks of daily use, I can honestly say there is a noticeable difference in my skin. It's softer to the touch, pores on my chin and cheeks that tend to clog up have a tighter appearance, and my few acne marks have faded considerably. I have experienced occasional tingling that verges on burning in spots, but nothing intolerable. I've also noticed some self tanner-like staining on my fingernails, so make sure you wash your hands after application!

Super gritty
I thought this would have a nice silicone feel but it is super gritty. There are little granules of pure vitamin c which could cause hot spots on the skin and lead to chemical burns. I have not had any issues so far but I only use these on my hands at night and have never used it on my face.
If you have sensitive skin I would stay away and I would not recommend anyone wear this during the day.
Other than that, I haven’t noticed any extreme benefits but I will probably continue to but this for my hands unless I find something else.

Love it !
I've been using this for a few years as part of my nightly routine between retinol/lactic acid nights. My skin feels moisturized for hours, which is exactly what I want overnight. It has a supple feeling. My skin has improved over the few years of using this and their Buffet with copper peptides in the am.
For stinging- just mix a little bit of face cream with it and it's not so astringent.

I decided to try this due to it's high 30% ascorbic acid concentration, it's light- and air-protective packaging, and great price.
As someone else said, the silicone base acts like a primer so I actually love putting it on in the morning under makeup. I combine it with my daytime moisturizer and it goes on light and smooth with no issues.
I have absolutely no idea how this would turn a person's skin orange, I think the previous reviewer was using a different product.
I am using this in combination with Retin-A and I do sometimes feel a tingling sensation when I first apply the Vitamin C, but I've had no issues with redness or peeling.
I've only been using it a few weeks but I'm hoping to see my dark spots fade and an improvement in skin tone.

I have not experienced any irritation with this product. Unfortunately, due to the silicone content, I cannot apply any other product after this. Any type of moisturizer or sunscreen should be applied last, yet on top of this silicone base, everything else balls up, pills, and rubs off my face.

I love TO vitamin c suspension!
The first time I used this suspension the product felt quite thick and tricky to apply. It left my face with a faint white finish too. These things did not bother me since I was using it at night, before bed. What I really wanted, visible results, this vitamin C delivered! My skins looks brighter and more even toned after weeks of using it. I am on my second bottle and plan on buying again and again!

Excellent quality and effective!
Used at night, for 3-5 nights in a row, gives awesome results. Smooth, clear and gentle skin. Slowly fades and evens skin tone. Yes, may feel some slight pops at application, disappears in 3-5seconds. DOES NOT IRRITATE. Wait to layer with other products. I love this product. I love the results for my skin. This product performs beautifully. Love, love and love.

I bought this along with the VC Suspension in Spheres just in case I had such bad reactions to it. Turns out I am not sensitive to either product. I love this one under makeup as it has a nice clean, silicone finish. I use the Spheres product at night due to the gritty finish. They are both wonderful Vit C products.
