Great Bowl for a young self-feeder
My 14 month old and I are really loving this bowl and spoon set. He has always refused to let any one feed him so I have been pre-loading spoons with food for months and needed an option where he can be more independent but without knocking the bowl on the floor. The suction is strong initially on his plastic tray but once wet food gets around the base it will slide on the tray and eventually come off. By the time my son has gotten to the point of picking up the bowl he is not interested in eating any more so I just take it away and it hasn't been a problem for us.
The colour and design is great though (glad I opted for the marble and not one of the coloured ones - highly recommend this colour) and I love the high back to stop food going backwards. I have also seen my son scrape food all the way up the back to get it nicely on his spoon. I didn't think I would like the spoon but it works great. The flexible mouth piece makes it easier to actually get all the food off without leaving that little reservoir as it will bend to the shape of your child's mouth. Food clings to the spoon nicely as well. I do think it could become a food-flinger at some point, but so far so good. We have been using for about a month and use it 2-3 times a day.
I am only giving it the 4 starts instead of 5 due to the ability to lose suction with wet foods - which will be a major issue for some people.
