Rated 1 out of 5 by from I should’ve read the reviews 1st 2 days ago, I started to notice a little pink in the corner of my eye, then it moved to the other eye. I bought this product out of convenience on the shelf, and as soon as I used it, my eyes began to sting a little. I figured this was an indication the product was “working”. Next day, I used it 2 more times and I just had to stop, not only did it start stinging and irritating my eyes, it was significantly more red, not even a slight pink anymore. It was getting worse by the minute so I had to rinse my eyes out and got instant relief! A waste of money for sure. I should’ve read the numerous reviews saying the EXACT same thing! I don’t even want my $$ back, just take it off the shelves until you improve your product and save people from burning, red eyes!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Why did you add alochol? Polysporin eye drops: was a good product. I missed it when it was off the market. Now it is back containing alcohol. Horribly irritating and stinging. This product actually makes the condition worse!!! i can't believe this is recommended for children. Bring back the old formulation!!!! BTW: I used this on my dogs so some of the questions N/A (although when my dog freaked I did put some in my eye and found extreme burning!)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Burning won't stop! I had called my doctor to see what they recommend I do to help prevent an infection, as I had gotten dog scent gland expression in my one eye. I was told to get the polysporin pink eye drops. I was instructed to use them for 3 days. I found that it made my eyes burn and the skin around them, for hours after each application. When the burning would finally stop they would be one itchy. I had only one eye that had gotten stuff in it but was told to do both eyes as a precaution. Now both my eyes are bloodshot, the burn and itch.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Never again! Last night I used the Pink Eye drops and let me tell you, they burned so bad, that I thought I had done some damage to my eyes. I bathed my eyes immediately afterward as I could hardly bare the discomfort, now 24 hours later, my eyes are still red and sore. I couldn't imagine using these drops on children. I will not use this product ever again. Off to the doctor for a prescription.! I would like to be reimbursed for my purchase,.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This product turned my eyes dark red I thought I may have the start of pink eye or dry eye. After 2 hours of one drop in each eye, my blood vessels darkened red and my eyes look absolutely horrible. At first the drops seemed soothing then started burning. My whites are seriously red. Not worth the price or the result, and after reading all of the negative online reviews and the responses from the manufacturer I’m not sure why the product has not improved - may be time for a new product launch from a competitor?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The drops burn My eyes were itchy, and one eye seemed to be getting red. So I bought the drops and used them, and then my eyes hurt for 20 minutes afterwards. Then all was good, and I put in more drops 6 hours later, and my eyes hurt for 20 minutes, and it felt like there was sand in them for 40 minutes. I am not sure if this is the normal reaction to these drops. I only got them as it's the weekend, and the doctors office doesn't open till Monday. Not sure if they really help anyone developing an eye infection.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The pain! After one day of successful use (2 drops per eye, 4 times a day), the product became extremely painful. As others have said, the drops cause great discomfort, red eye, burning, and irritation. This is a new development as the old formula did not cause such horrible pain. Currently laying in bed unable to sleep from the stinging. My advice, avoid this product for another form of polymyxin b.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible I started using these eye drops on a Thursday morning when I woke up with a crusty eye. By Sunday my eye was worse and had spread to my other eye. I would wake up with swollen eye lids in the mornings after using this product before bed. Ended up at the doctor who gave me a prescription and with only two doses of one drop each eye so far my eyes feel 100x better. Wont ne using this product again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Makes eyes feel worse after use My husband contracted bacterial conjunctivitis so we picked this up hoping to treat without seeing a doctor. It's been 4 days and it's slowly getting better but the drops irritate and instantly cause them red eye, watery, burning, gritty feeling for about 2 hours. This basically means his eyes feel like this with the drops for a total of 8 hours a day. At this point it feels like he's better off without the drops but the pharmacist advised 7 days. Any advice would be great.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ms I get blockages in my eyelids throughout the summer every year. Previously, I could put a bit of ointment on it and it was gone when i woke up. Now I have to put repeated applications for days. Of course, this was after I could find it. Ironically, the expired ointment I used while I was waiting on this product worked better as the ointment stayed put. Off to the dr for an rx. Why did you get rid of a product that works? Can't you have 2 different forms to meet different needs. If drs keep writing scripts for eye ointments, there must be something too it. Very disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Makes Things Much Worse Went to a pharmacist to get something for pink eye. I was given these drops. Been 24 hours and 4 times used with my eye being much more itchy, more red, more painful than before. It doesn't sooth or make it better. Seeing so many negative reviews...I am surprised this product is still being sold. Hopefully no damage to my eye. Will check with an optometrist.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the product. Wish it came in a smaller dose. I use this product everytime my kids get pink eye cause it saves us a trip to the walk-in clinics. I only have one problem with the product. It comes in a huge bottle that you have to discard after one month of opening. Which in the end you are wasting money cause you don't even use half a bottle. It would be great if you sold the same product in a single dosage with enough for maybe 4 drops, 2 per eye incase you have an infection in both eye. That way the rest of the product could still be use up until the expiry date.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for my daughter’s ear infections These have worked great twice now. The first time my daughter had an ear infection I took her to a quick care clinic and this was recommended by a doctor there. This week my daughter had another earache and and I couldn’t get in to a clinic this time but I remembered I had use these drops last time. I tried them again and I they worked great, no doctor’s appointment necessary.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Please dont use this! I had bacterial conjuctivitis and started using Polysporin as directed. In the beginning, there was no burn. But then on the second day it began to sting and on the third day my eyes were buring to the point that I couldn't leave them open and my eyes were tearing so much. I went to the doctor and he wrote me a prescription antibiotic drop. My eyes cleared up within 2 days of using the prescription drops. Polysporin, please take your product off the market! There is something in the formula that is really bad for the eyes. If someone withstands the burning for your recommended 7 days (which I intended to do), I have no doubt that the drops could lead to lasting damage to the cornea. Again, please take it off the market, fix it and then distribute again. Thanks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the stuff I have used this product for so long, we used to have to get it by prescription. It has never failed me. Pink eye is gone in a matter of a couple of days at most.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5 stars for the ears! It did cure my daughter’s last year ear infection and mine just now. I find this pink eye and ear Polysporin does not irritate my ears like the blue ear Polysporin does (that one works too but has for side effect to make my ears VERY itchy which is not pleasant). So I always keep a pink eye and ear Polysporin home ready for the next infection in the family! However, despite kids eyes infections in recent years we have not used it: most eye infections were accompanied with other viral symptoms and resolved after a week on their own: this can happen with the flu and Covid for example. Those who claim Polysporin Eyes didn’t work might have tried to mistakenly fight a virus in their eyes with this antibiotic (antibiotics work only against bacterial infections).

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Burning and feels like sand! I’ve been using this for a few days and honestly I don’t think it’s helping my eye infection. My eye seems to get if I don’t use it but as soon as I use the drops, my eyes burn and feel like I have sand in them. They itch and sting endlessly. I’m not really sure what to do to to treat this pink eye.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Dried out my eyes I've had pink eye before, so instead of going to the doctor this time, I decided to try Polysporin pink eye drops. I followed the directions exactly, but after 2 days I found my eyes getting dry. The 3rd morning I woke up with extreme discomfort trying to open my eyes since they were so dry! I stopped using the drops. I don't have the pink eye discharge anymore, but my eyes are *so* dry, even after 2 days of stopping the drops. Now I have to go to my doctor anyhow. Don't mess with your eyes, if you think you have pink eye, go to your doctor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The drops cleared up the redness in a few days The first time I used the eye drops my eyes also burned as some reviews here mention. However, I did not quit and within a few days the drops no longer burned my eyes and the redness disappeared. So my theory is that the burning happened because the eyes were sore and raw from the infection; but that soon stopped as the infection cleared up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick and COnvenient! My almost 2-year-old daughter started showing signs of Pink Eye yesterday when she woke up from her nap. Her eye was all sticky with guck on her eyelashes and she continuously rubbed her eye throughout the day. We were going to take her to the doctor today and waste an entire day sitting at the hospital ER department. Instead, we got the drops and after two drops in her eye, I've noticed a significant improvement. She did not scream or show any signs of discomfort other than being held still. After a nap there are now minimal crusties on her eyelashes. Just those two drops helped a lot. I'm so glad we got this today instead of wasting the day waiting on a doctor to see her. I will definitely be keeping this product on hand for future eye issues.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product I’ve used this twice for pink eye and it resolved the infection within a week to two. Dr recommended this product. My eye was sore, red and discharge, crust the usually symptoms. You have to bath your eye too along with using the drops. Yes it stung..your eye is infected, it takes time for the antibiotic to work. But I guess some people are more sensitive to these drops , In which case see your doctor for another kind..nothing wrong with these drops,,it’s my go too when I have an eye infection every time. .

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Burns!!! Why did you discontinue the antibiotic ophthalmic ointment? It was much gentler & longer acting. This product burns!!!
Date published: 2022-02-13
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Please bring back the ointment! The eyedrops are modestly effective, but burn like crazy.. My son has had eyedrops before but he fights these.. they are very painful to already infected eyes! They ointment is more effective, has better "staying power" for little ones who are constantly rubbing their eyes... and far less painful. Please bring back the ointment!! I will not bother with the drops again, I will go straight to the doctor for a prescription product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WARNING-HORRIBLE PRODUCT -DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY I just bought this product and it burned my eyes and made my eye worse!!! My eye was redder, burning/stinging sensation. My eye area was swollen and in extreme pain. Was able to get into see doctor and shared with her what happened with this product. My doctor highly recommended NOT to use this product. When it comes to your eyes please see a medical practitioner and get proper medication cuz this product is not recommended and seriously hurts the eye. What a waste of money!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works...but hurts! In reading all the reviews I'm surprised at the number of people whom feel the stinging sensation from using these drops. I feel the burn also, but the drops do seem to clear up my eyes...even though it takes about 5 to 7 days. I will be giving your Consumer Services a call this week to inquire about this issue of the stinging.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from This product made my eyes feel worse For the first day or two the drops burned a bit. After that my eyes were soooo sore from the drops that I couldn't stand it. Putting the drops in my eyes caused severe burning, itching and dryness. They became bright red and I wanted to claw my eyes out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for dry eye infections I've been using Polysporin for Pink Eye for a few years now. I have severe Dry Eye Syndrome and if I'm not careful I'm prone to eye infections. I try to keep a bottle around just in case I get an infection. Works great for me. However, since the summer of 2022, this product is out of stock everywhere and has been for months. I sincerely hope it's still in stores and not discontinued.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What happened to the external ointment?? Few years ago I had a mild eyelid infection, doctor recommend polysporin external eye ointment, cleared it right up. Now spent over an hour driving from pharmacy to pharmacy trying to find this stuff and having them tell me it's on back order before one lady told me to try the website and by the looks of it you guys discontinued it which is rather annoying because I do not what to try and use drops on my two year old daughter for an external eye infection like a sty. Please bring the ointment back!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NEVER IN STOCK I would love to use this as an alternative to a trip to the walk in clinic, but it's VERY difficult to find it in stock anywhere (tried 5 stores before I found it). I would suggest that sales of this product would excel if people could actually buy it somewhere! It's effective and does not sting any more than any prescription eye medication. Just get it stocked!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from IT WORKS I woke up with an itchy, crusty slightly reddened eye. I went to the pharmacist and he recommended to try these eye drops. After 2 doses it felt less uncomfortable and after 4 doses it feels much much better. I plan on continuing to use for a few more days.
