Chickapea Pasta Penne
Chickapea Pasta has turned a family favourite into a superfood! Eating a bowl of Chickapea is like...eating a bowl of smiles, sunshine and super powers! Ok, that may be pushing it, but your body and taste buds will definitely be doing a happy dance.

Chickapea is made from ONLY two ingredients: organic chickpeas and lentils, which are both part of the pulse family. Cool, what the heck are pulses? Glad you asked! Pulses are the dried seed of peas, edible beans, lentils and chickpeas and are very high in protein and fibre, and low in fat. This makes them a healthy addition to any meal! The biggest question here is shells, spirals or penne?

Chickapea pasta is our family's go to pasta. I love that it's healthy and it tastes great too. It reminds me of whole wheat pasta, which I love.

This pasta is absolutely delicious! My whole family gobbled it, even my toddler and husband! I think the trick, as with many pastas, is to cook in A LOT of water with salt. Starchy pastas need room to move around in the water and that way they won't stick together or get mushy. I also rinsed it with hot water after. I was so impressed with how well this pasta held up and the amount of protein and fibre is amazing!

I can't even say enough about this pasta. I've been gluten free for 7 years and have never enjoyed eating other pastas. This cooks just like pasta, tastes even better and my kids devour it, sometimes 3 times a week. It's so good for you and it's so nice to cook something you know won't go to waste. My nutritionist suggested this pasta for my picky son but this stuff was terrible. Doesn't cook well (mine was very al dente despite cooking for 10 mins) and the taste was very unappealing. I mixed it with regular pasta and finished cooking in the tomato sauce and that improved the flavour a bit. I won't be purchasing this product again.
