The award-winning Dreambaby Indoor/Outdoor Retractable Gate is a versatile gate that can be used inside and outdoors as it's made from a UV treated durable mesh to keep it from fading in the sun. The gate is hardware mounted and comes with two sets of mounting brackets for easy use in more than one place. It can be unclipped from one set of brackets and easily relocated to the other set of brackets. Fits narrow to wider openings up to 55Δ and is suitable for doorways, hallways and stairs. *The loud sound is to alert parents that the gate is being opened. For silent opening, you must turn the top knob on the gate while you retract the gate with your other hand.

Good quality, no one hand use
This gate is built nice and high quality, but it is miserable to use as most of the time we have something in our hands to go downstairs/upstairs and have to put things down as you need two hands to open and close this because the lock at the one end needs to be unlocked with opening and closing in order to use it. You have to press and turn the dial at one end while pulling or retracting from the other end. Due to this our 7 and 8 year old cannot open this gate which makes it a nuisance. I will be selling this and getting a different one on amazon that has the 1 handed ability as well as easier for older kids to use.

Not bad for the price
This gate functions ok and is sort of what you would expect for the price point. It isn’t easy to operate one-handed (although it is possible - you press and turn a knob to release it and then pull the gate across), and it doesn’t tension perfectly (i.e., there is some slack. It does the trick for keeping our 10-month-old safely out of the kitchen when we are cooking, though, and it’s great to be able to retract it when not in use!

Check the height
Overall it is a very good product, with Youtube video instruction for installation. However, the only problem is that the height is described as 32 inches. Actually, to our surprise, it is 331/2 inches. We had to install it at the top of stairs with the half wall on one end, and we just made it.
