Herbal Select Milk Thistle Plus

Milk thistle is traditionally used in Herbal Medicine as a liver protectant as well as to relieve digestive disturbances. Liver health is the major indication for milk thistle, and according to a recent meta-analysis, milk thistle is effective as a supporting element in the treatment of several serious liver diseases such as cirrhosis.  Other research indicates that milk thistle may have a protective effect in the  inflammatory response to hepatitis C virus, and though it is not anti-viral, improves symptoms as well as general quality of life and wellbeing in many liver conditions. Milk thistle has also been used to treat toxin induced liver diseases. The active component of milk thistle is the lipophilic extract of the seeds known as silymarin, which has antioxidant, antifibrotic (anti-scarring) and can inhibit the binding of toxins to liver cell membrane receptors.

Directions: Adult Dosage: Take 2 Vcaps® daily. Use for a minimum of 3 weeks to see beneficial effects.
