Description
Black rice is an ancient grain previously reserved only for the Chinese elite. It was historically cultivated only in small quantities for Chinese emperors. Black rice is particularly nutritious and contains several times more protein and minerals than ordinary white rice. It's rich in iron, calcium, zinc, manganese, selenium and B vitamins. King Soba's Organic Black Rice Noodles turn a deep purple when cooked and renders a nutty flavour.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Interesting, good but Odd So, I have a long history of eating different sorts of rice noodles, from way back when vermicelli was all you could reasonably get. This has a similar texture, 4 mins is as long as they should be cooked, we put them in soup and it reminded us both strongly of 'gagh' (the klingon dish of worms). Although the color is striking, it also...well, it looks super wormy, OK? In the right context with good lighting, some bright herbs, sure. Tasted very good. As with other black rice products, (and this I thought was just me but my partner had a morning experience), slightly laxative. Nobody warns you about that. Will try again with the buckwheat version, like I said, it was quite tasty.
