Benefits of Mefix:
- Pre-measured protection paper for convenient measurement and cutting
- Perforated split in protection paper for easy handling
- Skin-friendly, waterbased, solvent-free polyacrylate adhesive for secure and gentle fixation
- Soft, elastic nonabsorbent nonwoven for patient comfort
Areas of use:
Mefix can be used in a wide variety of situations where fixation is required, including fixation of dressings, swabs, catheters, and tubes.
How Mefix works:
The porous structure of the nonwoven fabric ensures air and water vapour permeability. The fabric is flexible, confirms well to body contours, and allows body movements when in place. The fabric is non-absorbent and provides a barrier for blood and fluid strike-through.
The water-based polyacrylate adhesive has been designed to be gentle to the skin and at the same time provide secure fixation.
The easy-to-remove protection paper is pre-measured in 10 cm intervals, and has a perforated split for easy removal and application. Mefix can easily be cut to the desired shape and size.
Mefix is made of a porous, polyester elastic nonwoven coated with a skin- friendly polyacrylate adhesive providing secure fixation. It is protected by an easy-to-remove, premeasured release liner.

I bought these for different reason than most people might; To cover nipples when wearing a thin shirt or while working out/running. For this purpose, I love this product. I used to use band-aids but I would go through a box quickly and they had to be laid perfectly on the skin or they would be visible. Mefix is a thin, cloth like tape that you can cut to the desired length. You just rub your finger against the backing and it comes right off. It's super sticky, and stays put all day. It's cloth so it lies very flat and conforms to the skin very well. In my case, protecting nipples from chafing against clothing or being visible through thinner tee shirts or dress shirts. It doesn't hurt when removing it, whether you peel it gently or rip it, or hairless or hair covered areas. It is not visible through thin clothing in my experience. Great option for men for the reasons mentioned above.

I seemed to be somewhat allergic to adhesive tape of any kind until I was introduced to Mefix. I use it daily as I have a permanent wound which requires several pieces of Mefix to hold the bandage in place each day. It is so easy to cut it into measured lengths by the markings given and so I cut a box at a time to have it ready for use. Very handy product - perfect for me.
