Description
Polysporin Cold Sore Healing Patch uses hydrocolloid technology to effectively treat the cold sore. The patch forms a protective barrier that contains the virus and enables fast effective healing. Instantly hides, actively heals.

Directions for Use: Apply POLYSPORIN Cold Sore Healing Patch at first sign of an outbreak. When the patch starts to detach from the skin, remove it and replace it with a new one until cold sore is healed. Patches should be used 24 hours a day. On average, the patch will stay on for approximately 8 hours. You do not need to remove the patch every 8 hours, only when it begins to detach.

How to Apply:
  1. Wash hands. Ensure skin is clean and dry. Do not use in combination with cream as the patch may no longer stick to the lesion to provide full treatment benefits.
  2. Remove applicator from wrapper and hold ends using both hands.
  3. Gently pull each end of applicator, following the arrows, until adhesive side is half-exposed. Take care not to touch the adhesive side of the patch.
  4. Gently press the half-exposed part of the patch with a finger to firmly place over the cold sore.
  5. Slowly pull end of applicator down and away from the skin in a smooth rolling motion until the patch slips from the applicator. Make-up or lipstick can be applied over the patch. Wash your hands after application.
Removal: If the patch stays on, do not remove or change it. When the patch starts to detach, a new one should replace it. Remove the patch by stretching it along the skin (as opposed to pulling it away). Do not reuse patch to avoid infection of the wound and spreading of the virus.

CAUTIONS: Do not use inside the mouth, on mucous tissue or to treat genital herpes. Consult your pharmacist or doctor if the cold sore becomes severe and/or an outbreak lasts unusually long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Baby oil removes a patch that is stuck I love this product! It conceals and contains the cold sore more effectively than any other product I've tried. I have a tip for those like me who have the patch sticking for a long, long periods of time and then folding slowly. Removing the patch by stretching across the skin does not work for me and proves to be painful. Just like with any sticker, baby oil removes the patch gently and quickly!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Expensive and Does not Stick This is a very expensive product that does not stick for more than 5 minutes. I use Polysporin religiously for my kids cuts and scrapes so I trusted this brand. Very disappointed as I really only needed it to hide my cold sore for 1 hour during an interview. After trying 5 different patches in less than 30 minutes, realized this product just doesn't work. Don't waste your money on it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a quality product and price way too high The packaging is clumsy and not easy to put on. It is not pleasant having to push into your already sore lip to use quite a bit of force to get the patch off the other side. Then it rinkles and toss that one and have to use another one. Did not help the healing time at all. I will stick to abreva and Cold Fx

Rated 3 out of 5 by from On the fence I have used this product a few times now. It can be difficult to put the patch on even when closely following directions. I have had the patch fold over and stick to itself on one side or have to loosen the patch with my fingernail. I love that it covers the cold sore completely when properly applied. You can apply lipstick or gloss to help blend in more if you are feeling self conscious at all. However I have found that when removing it has 'gunk' stuck to the patch which looks gross #can be a teeny bit pain with removing# but I'd rather have it out of system. The issue I have with this is that it takes my cold sore much longer to go away. In fact after using these for a few days I end up leaving off to allow a scab and for the cold sore to dry up and heal quicker. My personal results of heal time difference with and without the Polysporin patch is approximately 2 and a bit weeks longer using the patch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for pain relief and to contain the virus Right away when I applied the patch, I felt the pain go away. I felt like the patch was keeping the cold sore from getting worse and like it made it less apparent. I felt like it was easier to eat and drink without worrying about oitment coming off. I think the value of the product is very reasonable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It works great! I had a allergic reaction to either my dog or the medication I'm on, which caused 5 cold sores to form on my bottom lip. I bought the cold sore patches and applied them right away, it's been 2 days and I can already see that they're healing. I think this product works great but I do think the price is a little high..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Results I have used this product for several years now and absolutely love it. The patch is the perfect size to conceal the cold sore and is almost invisible when applied to the soft tissue. The itchy, painful feeling of having a cold sore is almost immediately gone, healing takes place quickly. The adhesion is excellent, and lipstick can be applied on top of the patch. Magic!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is awesome! I've had lots of large, painful cold sores. I've always just used abreva, which I do think works awesome as well, especially if you use it RIGHT AWAY! This time was waaaaay too late, it looked like I was smacked in the face, my lip was HUGE. I bought abreva AND the polysporin patch. It says in the patch booklet not to use them together due to the patch not sticking properly. That is true... (Lost a patch:() but I did use the abreva and after a few hours and making sure there wasn't any left, I'd use the patch. I love it! My cold sores hurt so bad, my lips usually stick together at night and when I wake up I'm in tears. Even air hurts my lip... So this patch is my saviour. I had troubles applying it thrift store few times, but found the trick. One side of the backing comes off easier then the other. Make sure you take the hard side off first. When it's half stuck to your lip it won't pull and stretch the patch. Final say? I love it, you can't see it or your cold sore at all. It never hurt while removing it, and the cold sore seemed to heal exactly like it would with abreva. I couldn't imagine going through another cold sore without it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Makes worse Ive tried this product numerous times and everytime i tried it made a small cold sore turn into a major problem. ......the patch seams to trap the disease in enabling it to grow easier and not dry out......if u wanna temporarily conceal yer cold sore only to make it 100% worse for days n days u could try this product ......if u want it to go away buy abreava

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soothing, preventative, subtle Product is effective when used to prevent cold sores after noticing the warning signs. Because it's larger than other cold sore patches, I find that it stays on more comfortably, especially for extended periods of time. It's clear when it goes on, and stays clear almost the entire length of wear, so it's hard to see that you're wearing anything.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Was ok Always get cold sores between my nose and upper lip. Can't cover it with make up to help hide the fact I have a bad cold sore.Just looks unnatural under cover up. But do wear it do bed and feels nice. And then I don't have to worry about thedifferent cream ones getting everywhere. Wish they weren't so expensive Or put more in the packs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Made it worse (This review was collected as part of a promotion.) This product masks the cold sore well but ultimately makes your cold sore worse. Very painful to take off. I will never use this product again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So much better than other brands!! Okay I don't get cold sores very often and I only very recently tried using cold sore patches at all. I usually just use oregano oil which is great and effective but doesn't cover up the cold sore when you want to hide it and has a strong smell. My bedroom ends up smelling like pizza lol. I tried two other brands that I won't name but one was a pharmacy brand. Both claimed to be either water resistant or that you could eat and drink with the patches on. Both peeled off at the slightest sip of a beverage or bite of food. And I am a polite eater. I went through a pack of 20 patches in four days with one brand. They both peeled off very easily at the slightest smile or expression on my face. The Polysporin patch felt different as soon as I put it on. First of all, it was thinner and more flexible to my skin. It also was much more adhesive. I can eat full meals and drink beverages with this patch on and have no problems. It is literally life changing - and I do mean literally. It is very freeing and I don't feel like I have to hide my face anymore.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great New Product Could feel the pain relief almost immediately after applying. Covers well, haven't tried to put makeup over it yet, Appears to be healing faster, no crust/scabbing. Clean and clear. Doesn't last that long for me, 3-4 hours maximum before it starts peeling. Wish they came in two sizes, regular and small. Very happy with this so far.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Festers infection under the patch. Collects puss under the patch, doesnt stick on properly when it has to go partially under the lip. And causes your lip to bleed when you pull it off the right way. Not sure if there is medication on the patch but if not you may aswell put a piece of tape on your lip. Same garbage. Waste of money and would like a refund

Rated 1 out of 5 by from VERY Expensive and could be efficient if it stayed on over the cold sore. Took 3or 4 patches to place it properly. Not an easy task at first. Then when I finally got the patch on , it felt fine, until I had a cup of tea and part of it unstuck. Tried to slide the rest of it off, doing it the way recommended, not easy, does not work as well as you mention.Easier said than done.I agree on 1 thing the patch does not show when applied correctly and if it stays on. Also, sorry, much too expensive , you should mention that you should not wet the lip when patch is on or have any hot beverage. Part of it does not sick to the lip and will not stick even if you press it back on. Money spent for something not efficient and will not buy this product again. I trusted it would be good because there is always a tube of Polysporin ointment in our cabinet and having been using it for years for all sorts of cuts, bruises, scratches and sores. A miss for me on this product.Because the ointment is good, and that is whyI trusted this product to be as good,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The only thing that works I have been getting cold sores for 15 years. I have tried every home remedy and product on the market. I guarantee that if you put a patch on when you feel a cold sore starting, you will reduce the total sore time by at least 50 % or more. Also when you have the patch on, it hides the sore! I recommend this to everyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product went above and beyond for me. I read some reviews for the polysporin cold sore healing patch before I tried them. I read some pretty scary stuff but I decided to try them anyway because i had just noticed the tingle right before the sore shows itself. I knew I had previously bought a package and hadn't opened it yet so I found them and put one on. It was easy enough to apply. I kept it on for 8 hrs. I didn't reapply another one. I just left the cold sore alone and didn't use any more til the next day. I woke up the next day and noticed a cluster of 3 sores in the affected area. I put another patch on for another 8 hrs and again I left it alone for the rest of the day. I woke up this morning and the 3 cluster of tiny sores is now 3 tiny scabs. Like seriously the cold sores ran away. So what normally would have taken 2 to 3 wks to heal was like 3 days. I can't even believe it. Maybe it's a fluke but I'll be using them again. I'm so glad I didn't listen to all the negative reviews and tried them for myself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First time First time using it and cold sore is not healed yet...just put it on this morning when I noticed the cold sore....it is 14 hours later and just changed it and my cold sore is white and no blisters or scabs... Not to mention it's like a second skin and covers it right up! So far I love it! Thank you polysporin!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not work as advertised After seeing the lipstick advertisement for this, I thought it would be great to conceal cold sores. However, it did not conceal well at all. Also, it did not seem to heal my cold sores at all and maybe made it worse. It seemed like my cold sore spread to the whole circle which was really weird and unpleasant.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well! I like this product cause it helps to contain he virus and doesn't let it spread. Also with having two kids around I feel safer having it covered :) It normally takes a week to clear out and requires more than one pack so maybe you should increase the amount of strips per packs to make it more cost effective

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The product I go for every time I get a cold sore. I've been using these patches faithfully for a few years, cold sores are common for me and I love the convience of the patches, rather than a cream. It helps soothe the itch once the blisters start to form, and speeds up the healing time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the money this is my second review. The one from yesterday didn't make it so I am going to try to post another one. Extremely difficult to apply, I've wasted 5 in 2 applications, no way it stays 8 hrs. Instead of healing it, it spread, it's painful and extremely disgraceful. Do not waste your money on this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from polysporin is my go to I dont know why people are having a hard time with these patches, I just got my first cold sore after being infected by my 8 year old patch went on first shot and has been on for over 24 hours with no lifting. however I am getting no soothing from the pain or swelling so maybe it's not a cold sore.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Extremely hard to open and put on , usually using 4 or 5 before finally getting one on The concept is good but you waste too many patches to finally get one on ! Packaging is difficult to open

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it!!! Your product is the only thing I use when I get cold sores!! I’ve had them since I was little and struggled to find something that would speed up healing and also hide the cold sores and these absolutely do the job!! PLEASE DONT DISCONTINUE!! This has honestly been a life saver for me.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sorry, not that great Every company wants a great product, and although I like Polysporin's anti-biotic cream, Abreva beats Polysporin hands down as far as cold sore needs are concerned. Abreva seems to heal cold sores way faster than Polysporin. However, it might be different for someone else. Good luck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product I've had coldsores most of my life. They take weeks to heal. I've used this numerous times and my coldsores are gone in a few days. Use the patch right when u feel it coming and follow the directions. As long as the sore is covered no need to pull it off until it's ready

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best! This has saved me. I suffer from fairly regular cold sores. I have always been extremely self conscious about them. I always tried to find ways to cover them and it never worked. This works...completely! It has made me less self conscious and helps them heal quicker.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good overall I put the patch on and there is no pain, itching or tingling. The patch is hard to put on sometimes and I have wasted a lot and they are expensive. I would recommend because the cover up is very comfortable. Just getting used to application and cost is not so good.
