Best for natural hair.
I used this product both on my natural uncolored hair and on my colored hair. It definitely works way better at lightening natural tones than already color treated hair. My hair went a bit orange since it's colored but a couple washes of purple shampoo in between each use seems to clean it up a bit.
It is rather drying, and though it helps if you use the corresponding conditioner with it, you can still feel the drying effects. Overall it's a pretty solid product.

It's a keeee-per!
I had the pleasure of testing John Frieda's Sheer Blonde-Go Blonder Lightening Shampoo for free as part of the GlamSense Product Review Program. I was totally eager to try John Frieda's Sheer Blonde Shampoo, because who doesn't need a hair colour and moisture boost in this harsh Canadian winter! On the beautiful shampoo bottle, which is appealing and completely user friendly, it claims that the shampoo will gradually lighten for a sunlit blonde. Not only that, but hair will be healthy, shiny, and soft to the touch, because it contains citrus and chamomile ingredients. After using the ammonia and peroxide-free shampoo several times, I can say that this system is a keeeee-per! Not only did I see my hair become more supple and healthy, but I noticed a gradual difference in the Blonde shade of my hair. The shampoo is so gorgeously scented that its hard to not want to wash your hair everyday! I can definitely recommend John Frieda's Sheer Blonde-Go Blonder Shampoo to any Blonde looking to revitalize and nurish their dry, dull mane! The shampoo did what it said, it's safe on natural or colour treated hair, and I for one am now ready and willing to try other John Frieda Hair Care products right now! It's time to 'Rethink Blonde!'

Great Upkeep for Blondes
I get my hair done at the salon so I was worried about what if anything this product may do to my color in between salon visits. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it did a wonderful job of maintaining my color with no brassiness whatsoever!
I find this as a great upkeep tool to keep my blonde bright in between my salon visits.
My hair feels so soft after using and the smell is great too.
I am very pleased with this product and will continue to use it.

Great Upkeep for Blondes

Absolutely Amazing
I bought the Go Blonder Lightening Shampoo and conditioner set a few weeks ago, after five uses I could really tell the difference in colour. It made my highlights and low lights more radiant, in addition to leaving my hair silky smooth and smelling beautiful. I recommend this product to every blonde I know as I have had a excellent experience with it. I look forward to continue to use it as my hair looks fantastic and leaves me feeling beautiful.

Really enjoying this product
I'm always a bit hesitant to use lightening shampoos because I'm afraid it will dry out my hair but with having naturally blonde hair I'm always on the hunt for products that will lighten my hair subtly. This product has done just that for me. It has brought out some nice highlights in my hair. The shampoo lathers quite nicely and I enjoy the smell of it. Overall I'm very impressed with this product and I highly recommend it with the conditioner.

Serious clean! Excellent toner!
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I tried this shampoo on my hair and it cleaned amazingly well. I liked the scent and the lather even with not a huge amount of product used--which is rare for me as I tend to be an over user of shampoo. I liked the toning ability without leaving the top layers of my hair with a geriatric lavender hue that some brassiness reducers can. It mellowed my tone to a ducky baby blonde that I love!

My hair is so insanely damaged from the harsh bleach! This shampoo smelled amazing.. lathered like a dream and also lightening my hair without harsh chemicals .. what else could blondes ask for! YES YES YES
My hair is very dull and fine and this line of products did not weigh my hair down. The only negative was that the product was hard to squeeze out of the tube but i'm sure i just got a defective lid because their conditioner was fine.

I use box hair dye (John Frieda has some good ones!), generally in the lightest blonde shade offered, and this shampoo helps brighten it between dyeings. It won't turn your hair platinum blonde, but it definitely brightens dullness and rejuvenates my hair. I have an oily scalp but dry ends, and it cleans well without stripping too much natural oil. I definitely recommend this shampoo if you want to gradually lighten and brighten your hair!

I've been using this shampoo for over a week now, and I've really been loving it.
First, let me start off by saying that I absolutely love the fragrance. The citrus is a nice pick me up, it's not overwhelming, it's truly lovely.
The consistency is also one of quality. You can feel that there is a great quality to this product! I've been a hairdresser for 11 years, and I've noticed the consistency of a shampoo says a lot about the quality!
I'm seeing a lot of brightness added to my normally dull blonde hair, I have a lot of yellow tones and this definitely seems to help with the brassiness as well!
The only con I have, is I personally find the shampoo is so hard to get out of the tube. It seems like the hole on the lid is just a little too small for my preference, However overall this is a really great product, definitely a product worth trying!!

Awesome Shampoo for Lighter Hair!

Good product!
Overall I did like this shampoo, it smells good, and I did see results after a week or so of use. The good parts of it, smells good, trusted product, and it works. The bad of it, it’s very thick and hard to get out of the bottle, you have to rinse very well otherwise it will cause build up on your skull. I used this and in between used the John Freida purple shampoo to help combat any brassiness.

Keep this one where you can reach it!!!
After 4 weeks of use, John Frieda’s Go Blonder delivers great results. I have tried all kinds of toners, blue shampoos, and even expensive salon products to keep my blonde hair brilliant and glossy, many will cut the brass but leave my hair limp, some brighten my hair but feel harsh and clinical, others well they just don’t work at all!
GO BLONDER has a nice citrus smell and the addition of chamomile makes my hair and shower smell great!
I was really impressed how clean my hair felt - 3 days later! Light, bouncy and brilliant ! It’s like a blonde BOOST in a tube! GO BLONDER was truly made for blondes! If you have been searching for an affordable way to keep your color glossy in between dyes that delivers optimal results- then you need to give this a try! This shampoo is like a bottle of sunshine! After just three washes, I was able to see my blonde hair being lightened to a honey tone and I didn't have to go to the salon for highlights!
This is an amazing product, and I was incredibly skeptical that it would not work, but it did! :) The smell of the shampoo is not too strong and it did not cause my sensitive scalp to itch. It also made my incredibly fine hair to be soft.

GO wild for GO Blonde!
I absolutely LOVED John Freida's GO BLONDER LIGHTENING SHAMPOO!
I usually go to the salon or use box dye to lighten and/or highlight my hair, but this was a better and much cheaper way!
The results were natural looking, and the GO BLONDER LIGHTENING SHAMPOO didn't dry out or damage my hair in anyway. Plus, it has a pleasant and not overpowering, scent.
I'll definitely be using the product again in the future!

Sun in a Bottle
When I first came across this product a few years ago I was weary because it's the first I've seen of it's kind; a lightening shampoo. I used to use lemon juice and other things to brighten my blonde especially in the winter months, because I don't want to dye it completely, and this was the perfect solution. It keeps my hair looking sun kissed year round, and it's never a brassy blonde either. I'm also happy that it's not too strong that it dries my hair out, or leaves it 'too blonde', even if I use it for months continuously. The smell is absolutely amazing, I find it kind of banana-y, and everyone compliments me on it. It also does a great job as a regular shampoo getting my hair clean, so you're not sacrificing anything for the benefit of going blonder! I think i'd just about die if this product ever got discontinued. For blondes, its the ultimate upkeep solution.

I love the smell!
I haven't used the John Frieda brand for a few years so I was excited to try this shampoo. I absolutely loved how it smelled! It was a nice summery scent which I really appreciated in February! I found that my hair held the scent nicely (A big deal for me). As far as lightening blonde, I don't feel like it made a difference in my hair. My hair did seem to shine more, but that was about it. Overall, I'd recommend it!
