Nova Scotia Fisherman Forest Charcoal Soap is a 100% natural, hand poured soap made with charcoal. Why use a charcoal soap? One teaspoon of charcoal powder (about 3.3 grams) has about the same surface area as a football field. This tremendous surface area translates into a tremendous potential to adsorb (acts like a molecular sponge) large amounts of toxins, poisons, or pollutants. In the case of your face, grease and grime are attracted and trapped by charcoal, essentially helping you detoxify your skin. I believe this is the latest offering in the Nova Scotia Fisherman portfolio of bar soaps, and you would never believe a charcoal soap could smell so delightful! I received a sample bar in a subscription box, and then couldn't find the regular soap anywhere until it began to be available on here. I love everything by this company - their sustainable methodology, ingredients, simple packaging...and especially their bar soaps!

Great product
This product is great to use to help detoxify the skin - if making the switch to natural deodorant, I highly recommend using this charcoal soap.

A great bar of soap, and it's really a novelty for me that the rich lather is a dark grey! Rinses clean, and doesn't dry out my skin. It does have a particular 'campfire' smell from the charcoal that can get a bit pungent while using the bar, but it doesn't linger, so it's not an issue for me.

Had to try black soap.
This soap has a pleasant scent and was nice to use. I keep it in a closed soap dish because I prefer to only smell it when I use it. I like it.
