Rated 4 out of 5 by Vivi from love hate relationship I have the Nile nude and glossy rose falls colours I bought them within the last 5 mths and the glossy rose falls has become grainy and does not glide or spread. However I will say that they are amazing colours and they are perfect to keep in your purse for a quick pop of colour or at your desk at work to freshen up. I love that Burt’s bees is all natural and looking to switch over to using their products however for the price I’m worried about wasting money on any more of these lipsticks if they become grainy after a while also do not think they make rose falls colour anymore as I cannot find it

Rated 4 out of 5 by LoriJ from Nice colour but gritty. I have purchased at least 5 tubes of this lipstick because I really like the colour (Fushia Flood) and the texture is smooth with a nice finish when it is new. When you have used about 3/4 of the tube it starts to get gritty. You can see the grit in the tube and it shows on your lips as well. I keep buying and hoping the next tube will not get gritty but so far no luck. I decided to buy another colour and the same thing happened. When it gets gritty you really can’t use it unless you apply then blot it off to try and smooth out the grit but I usually end up tossing the tube as it looks and feels bad. Too bad as I really like it when it is new but it is too wasteful to toss that much lipstick each time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RheeToronto from Nourishing Lipstick - improved formula is great I purchased 502 Suede Splash a couple of years ago, and I loved the colour and formula so much. After a few uses, I noticed the tube of lipstick has bubbles and wasn't satisfied. I noticed that there was an improved formula, so I repurchased and am so very happy with the improvement. I'm now on my second tube of this new formula and haven't had any issues. I'm glad Burts Bees acknowledged and changed the formula - thank you! Overall, the satin lipsticks have wonderful colour pay off, they are hydrating, and I love that it's paraben free and incorporates natural ingredients.

Rated 4 out of 5 by KarenC from Natural lipstick I have tried about five colours of this lipstick. Of the 5, 2 were darker Colours and three were lighter colors. It seems that the lighter colours get a more gritty consistency than the darker colours which interferes with the application of the lipstick after a while. My favourite colour is Lily Lake which I Purchased a second tube of. It does get the gritty consistency but doesn’t affect the wear as much as the other two lighter colors. I really like this lipstick otherwise. I’m especially pleased that it has no weird taste as some natural lip products do.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Anonymous from Grainy Texture!! I bought 5 - 6 of these; the colours are amazing and he product stays on your lips for a long time. HOWEVER. I had to toss all of my lipsticks before they were finished because of the strange texture that develops. It gets super grainy and gritty. There's no way to apply it cleanly when this happens. If you're looking to try a natural lip colour I would suggest Burt's Bees lip crayons. They feel great, last a long time and don't have a weird texture.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Angie1975 from Great wear, great colours I purchased Blush Basin (satin lipstick), and am now on my second tube. I wore it all winter (here in very cold and windy Canada) and it was simply wonderful! The formula is the perfect mix of lipstick and lip balm, with great colour coverage. I really like how the colour wears... meaning it wears off gradually all over. It feels silky and moisturizing on my lips, but the colour doesn't fade, which is amazing. Also, the Blush Basin colour is very flattering on my pale (white skin) skin tone. I recently picked up "Suede Splash" too, and the mattifying powder.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Kara from Very moisturizing but grainy....... I have always been Burt's Bees fan as I keep looking for natural skin care and make up products. I usually don't use any lipstick as they break my lips and dry them out. I took a leap of faith as this line has good reviews on beautypedia. My 500 nude color is very moisturizing, I like the smell, it doesn't break my lips nor makes them dry but few uses into it and it turns grainy. I am very disappointed about that. Why is this happening?

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anneliese from GRITTY x 2 purchased 2 of these lipsticks and they both turned gritty after a few uses. Not happy about this considering the cost.
