Description
The innovative formula combines a breakthrough oil dissolving technology and acne-fighting ingredients to thoroughly cleanse skin and control breakouts. The unique, oil-free cleanser is formulated with the ACELERA Complex, a patent-pending technology that works to dissolve surface oil, allowing for delivery of acne medication, Salicylic Acid, without over-drying skin.

Dosage: For the treatment of acne.
Directions: Wet face. Apply to hands, add water and work into a lather. Gently massage all over face, avoiding eye area. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry. Good for daily use.
Active ingredient % w/w : salicylic acid (2%).
Non-Active ingredients : benzalkonium chloride, C12-15 alkyl lactate, citric acid, cocamidopropyl betaine, cocamidopropyl PG-dimonium chloride phosphate, disodium EDTA, linoleamidopropyl PG-dimonium chloride phosphate, parfum, PEG-120 menthyl glucose dioleate, PEG-80 sorbitan laurate, polyquaternium-7, polysorbate 20, propylene glycol, sodium benzotriazolyl butylphenol sulfonate, sodium C14-16 olefin sulfonate, sodium hydroxide, water.
Caution: FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY. Using other topical acne products at the same time or immediately following use of this product, may increase dryness/irritation. If this occurs, only one product should be used unless directed by a doctor. Avoid contact with eyes. If contact occurs, flush with water. Stop use if excessive skin irritation develops/increases. If irritation persists, consult a doctor.

Works well, directions could be better on bottle
I purchased this product for my teenage daughter. She was using the Murad line and we found it to be quite expensive so decided to give clean and clear a try since there were many positive reviews.
She finds both products to be similar, help in reducing her acne to minimum. The only issue she had was she used the cleanser but did not wash it off as the instructions on the bottle do not say to do so.
Her face dried out immensely. We did our research on the Clean & Clear website and found the proper directions under this product tab. Wash thoroughly and pat dry was what it stated on the site. They failed to put that step on the bottle. I did not know she was keeping it on until now just told her to do what the bottle says.

Disappointment
I'm so disappointed to read that this product has been discontinued. I've used it for years and it has been my favorite. I ran out a few months ago and couldn't find it in the store, so I was using something else and I've noticed little pimples popping up here and trying to figure out why I was breaking out. Then I realized it must be because I changed my face wash. Its very upsetting that you've discontinued such a great product. Clearly, by reading the comments and reviews, that I'm not the only one who feels this way. It was an extremely bad call on your marketing department, or whoever makes these decisions. Disappointed in J&J right now. Hopefully you guys make the smart decision and bring the product back. You're just losing customers.

Allergic reaction
Tried this product hoping to clear up my acne... and all this product did was cause an allergic reaction after about 3 days using it, the reaction appeared. My whole face and even my neck was affected. It’s super itchy, so sore, and extremely dry. There is even tiny little pimples that have appeared around my mouth and chin area. I have tried to get rid of this reaction for what seems like forever because of the pain I’m in...I have combination skin and I’ve never had problems with any of the Clean and Clear face washes until this one. The pharmacists could only reccomend a cream that made me burn even more... I just want to know how to get rid of this reaction???

i do not recomend this product
this product did not work for me it actually made my face red irritating dry and itchy. i tried this product for 3 days and every time i tried it my face got red and really dry. i do not recommend this product for people with sensitive skin or combination skin.

GODSEND PRODUCT-PLS DON'T DISCONTINUE
I'm 25 years old and I've been suffering from constant acne since I was 11, that's over a decade! I've used hundreds of cleansers, gels, masks only to end up wasting time and money. I even almost went on ACCUTANE. UNTIL just 8 months ago when I first stumbled upon this magical cleanser. In 3 weeks, my skin was FULLY clear like I was 9 years old again. I've been purchasing this like candy until a few months ago when I could no longer find this anywhere :( I called to check if my worst fear had come true..it did. For some reason, the only product that gave me the confidence to live makeup free had been discontinued. Clean&Clear, please don't discontinue this product. I will fully buy your inventory if it keeps you from discontinuing it. Please let this girl continue to have clear skin. I honestly don't know what I'm going to do when I run out of my last tube. Please please please keep selling this and I will happily buy for the rest of my life. This is the only thing that has worked for my acne. EVER.

facial skin was burned. :(
The first time i used this and the ff day my facial skin was burn, swollen including my eyes. And with a lot of small white patches around my mouth, eyes and forehead. After 2days, my face was full of flakes! Got a peeling skin. Very painful and itchy! I will never use this product again.

dry and red face
After 3 days of using this product my face got super red, irritated and dry. On the third day of using the product is when my face got really red but I thought it was just because of the hot water so I went on with my day but later is when all those side effects started happening and when I went to go check my face it was still red like a tomato! I think it might be a chemical in the product but it might work on your face but I would not risk it. It is a couple days since I have not used it and my face is still itchy even if I am using my normal moisturizer every day. So in the end I would not recommend this to any skin types it’s not against clean and clear but this product is not good…

Excellent
I have been using this face wash for years now, and it is the only one that keeps my skin clear. I got my sister and aunt hooked on it and even they haven't used anything else for years. It literally clears my skin within two washes. It does dry the skin out, but I feel that this is a good thing because it dries out the pimples and makes them flake off
