Duracell Optimum - leak in package and ruin tools
Bought within the past month - went to use and had leaked / corroded in package. Duracell quality is non existent - this has happened a couple times and I keep giving benefit of the doubt as it used to be a great product - DO NOT BUY UNLESS YOU WANT TO RUIN SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!

I bought the AAA coppertop batteries because the container indicated they were guaranteed for 10 years. For the extra cost charged for these batteries vs generic brands I expected good quality and durability. These batteries just don't last. I won't buy them again

Never again
I bought a 24 pack of AA bateries that said expiry of Dec 2022 and thought excellent they will last a few years. After having them sit in my drawer for approximately 1 year, I have found that all are dead, every last one.....

Leaking AAA Batteries
I've had several AAA batteries leak without even being used. The latest battery to fail has a date of Dec 2025. I used to think that the Duracell brand was the best on the market but not anymore. The next time I buy batteries I'm switching to Eveready for a test. Unfortunately Eveready batteries are made in China and possibly Duracell are also.

Burned my skin
I used 4 AA batteries for a light up mirror. When I came home from work there was a puddle of what looked like dirty water on the table. I didn't realize it was coming from the battery compartment and touched it. My skin immediately started burning and hives formed on my hands. I touched my leg and that also burned before I googled to figure out what happened- the batteries leaked. They have a date of 2027 and I am now afraid to use the remainder of the 24pk I purchased. And of course I removed the batteries before I knew they had leaked which made it worse.

Battery ran out in 3 days
I bought these batteries for a keyboard 3 days ago, and on the packaging the batteries claimed to last up to 10 years. After 3 days, the batteries ran dry, and my keyboard was dead. This means the batteries' life was about 0.0008219178% of the promised battery life. Will probably not buy these again .

Questionable duration
used AA batteries (takes 2) in my camera for one day, about 4 shots and got 'exhausted' message and no more use....expiry Mar 2027. Never had this problem before......odd!

There needs to be a Class Action Lawsuit Started
I have lost track of the number of devices destroyed by these batteries. The latest is a remote for my TV, the batteries had a 2024 date. I stopped buying the copper top when I started to find leaking batteries in new packages. I did call to report the problem and was sent a coupon for free batteries. It is probable that these replacement are the ones that leaked. What good are free batteries that damage what you use them in. I am now doing what I should have done years ago and replacing every Duracell battery in mine and my friends devices

When are you going to recall these?
I have used Duracell for many, many, happy long years. But a recent batch seems to be defective. I had a big pack of AA and a big pack of AAA, both dated 2022, and all the batteries in each pack broke open and leaked - one set of AAA leaked within 6 months of being put into a TV remote!!!!! It's not just the fact that I paid a premium for the Duracell brand; it's BATTERY ACID that's being leaked here, and I've had 2 remotes ruined as well as other electronic equipment that most often cannot be repaired and has to be replaced.

Leaked, But Until Then Very Good!
I bought these for my TI-83 calculator for school and they seemed to last forever!
However, I recently went to change the batteries as they were dead and I find two out of four batteries leaked. So until I found the leak they worked as well as you can expect a battery too!

Loud pop then found leaking, fizzing, battery.
I have used Duracell Copper-top batteries for years, but today, I had a scare. I was wearing my head-mounted work light, when I heard a “pop” followed by a sizzling sound. After spending a few seconds looking around for the source, I pulled the light from my head opened the battery compartment and found one of the three AAA batteries bubbling a small amount of fluid. Ripped it out, inspected the battery compartment and found no corrosion. It was spotless. Had to be an internal battery failure.

Great quality
If you’re a parent, you too, probably know how good these batteries are. There are only a few branded batteries that all go out of my way and spend money on simply because they are not outrageously priced, and they have a decent life expectancy for them. ďżź I started to have to buy batteries quite frequently ever since having children, and these are definitely one of Jim bought brand!

Great value package
I think the 24pack is great if you need a lot of batteries for kids toys that require many many batteries, for example small remote controlled cars (6 batteries) the duracell batteries seem to hold up pretty good in regards to batteries life. Definitely one of my go to products.
