Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awsome, awesome, AWESOME!!! I've been washing dishes for over 50 years (by hand) and was a bit dubious, knowing old-school dish soaps make dishes slippery and leave residue. I could not possibly be happier with this. Got as a Christmas gift to support my waste-free efforts, and am now about 6 weeks in, and barely a dent in this long-lasting bar. Dishes are clean and residue-free and because my hands are not sunk into a sinkful of water my skin is super-happy. It is a bit of a learning curve to adjust from using a sinkful of suds to applying directly to dishes, but if I can change, anyone can. Side benefits: I can see what I'm doing much better than working underwater and my water use is dramatically reduced. Note: I sense from reviews that some people are (wrongly) applying the soap to the dishwater as for a liquid product, rather than to the dishes. You have to completely change how you've probably always done dishes -- so exercise for the brain as well!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I changed my habits with this 'sno-plastics' soap. Now that I am shunning environmentally damaging products, I was very happy to order this dish-washing soap bar. What works for me is to use it with a brush and very little water. I keep the soap in a rectangular dish by my sink and keep the brush soapy by returning it to the dish. Sometimes I presoak the dishes and then apply the soap via the brush onto a damp dish. The soap lathers well and then I just give a hot rinse to the dishes in the dish rack with my sprayer . I am very happy with this product and will not return to liquid detergents.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Zero Waste Alternative I've been using this for 2 months now. A little really goes a long way! It lathers us nicely. It works a little differently that regular soap. I looked up videos of how others used it before switching. It does leave little water/residue marks sometimes (this is why I'll give it 4 stars) but not having a plastic bottle makes it worth it. I'm trying a concentrated liquid soap after this but I would definitely buy this again. My hubby loved it too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from ok but... Really love that I'm not using plastic containers filled with more water than soap. I live alone so it should last me a long time. I find that this soap can't cut through grease. Even after many applications of soap and hot water, the pots still feel greasy. I really want this to work....and it does for anything that isn't greasy. I bought a wooden holder which keeps it in place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy with this Zero Waste Purchase! I've been using this dishwashing block for a few weeks now and I'm very happy with it. It is as easy to use as my previous liquid hand pump and it suds up and works well on my dishes. I have not noticed any residue left on my dishes. The only thing I would change is the smell, it's not my favourite, but luckily it's not too strong.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love the no packaging The bar itself is appealing, it certainly is not the equivalent to 3 bottles of dish soap- maybe one and a half, which makes it very expensive. When you rinse with hot water it leaves a soap scum that no other enviro dish clebarr I've used does. I'm really into the no packaging, but sadly will not rebuy

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lasts long! Definitely replaced many bottles of dish soap in my home! I've bought again and again. I find it does leave a waxy residue on the dishes if you don't thoroughly rinse and dry completely and another negative to me would be that it doesn't have a scent at all. I wish it smelt like something. But it works.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So Far, So Good! Bought this recently, so far, so good. Definitely different than using liquid soap. I have it on the bamboo soap holder from No Tox so it dries bewtween uses. I've noticed that the soap is no longer white and it's discoloured in some spots. Not sure if anyone has experienced this, is this normal?
