As old as I am and maybe older
I remember seeing Ponds on my Mother's dressing table when I was very young. I started to us it when I was in my teen years. I am now 85 so Ponds Cold Cream has been around for a very long time. I hadn't used it in perhaps 60 years but my favourite waterproof mascara was recently discontinued and I needed to get the new mascara stain off my skin. I was very surprised to see Ponds on the welll.ca website but tried it and it works. I have been using cosmetics and cleansers that cost hundreds of dollars but none were able to clean the skin around my eyes as effectively.

Would give it zero stars if it were an option
I tried this based on the fact that it's been around for over 100 years, but it didn't live up to my expectations. I applied it to remove makeup and it left a thick, waxy balm on my hands and face that soap barely cut through. I had to cleanse several times before it came off my face and hands. It did a decent job removing my makeup but the hassle of trying to remove the cold cream itself wasn't worth it for me. I was really hoping to find a budget friendly makeup remover, but this just isn't it.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Well....I personally didn't like it. But that's just me. I think the price is really really great! And the quality and effectivness...well, to me, they were okay. No issues there. The reason I'm not crazy about it is that it left my skin feeling kind of greasy, like it had a coating of some kind left over on it. But, the thing is, that is just my personal response to it....it might feel or work differently for you. I can't reccommend it, personally, due to it feeling so greasy on my skin, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't give it a try.

It leaves my skin feeling smooth and it also removes my makeup. I also use it sometimes as a shaving cream and it works well for that too. It does have a scent to it so those who are more sensitive to strong scents may not like this product. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone who has dry skin and is looking for a cleanser that will leave your skin feeling moisturized.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I wasn't even aware they made this anymore as I hadn't seen it in my normal drug store, but tried it again after many years just recently. Still a classic. My grandmother used this when I was young and she swore by it. I love now that I have drier and more mature skin how really gentle yet effective this cream is. It removes my makeup yet it also acts as a moisturizer in a way as well because it leaves my skin feeling really soft and smooth. I am glad to have 'rediscovered' Ponds cold cream. Love it.

Now I understand why she likes this product to remove make up - it is gentle, soothing, and effective. One reason I would use this over a liquid water/oil based makeup remover is because of the after-feel of coolness. Also, I find it less oily. However, I don't really like using this on my eyes/eyelashes because I find the cream to be thick and it may be difficult to wash or wipe off. I like using this on my face.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) This is a great low-cost cleanser. It removes all your makeup and leaves your skin moisturized, but not greasy. When I was having issues with breakouts someone recommended this to me. It seemed counter-intuitive to put a cream like this on skin that was breaking out, but it cleared up my skin problems in weeks. My husband has used it too on those odd occasions when he's broken out. We always keep some in the house, and it's my go-to product whenever my skin has any issues.

I have found this to take off some waterproof mascaras and eyeliners, but not all, but its still impressive considering how long this has been around. I never find that this makes my skin feel dry after using it, and the non offensive smell has grown rather comforting. I totally would recommend this for any minimal makeup wearers who want one product to take off all their makeup. This will do it.
