Way to much artificial perfume. It seems to have done a good job of cleaning and disinfecting my washing machine, and we always leave the door/tray open so it doesn't need cleanining very often. However, it was SO SMELLY I had to open all the windows on the main floor to get fresh air inside, the perfume smell was so overwhelming - it stunk for hours. I could not possible use this in the winter when it's -30.

Occasionally use Affresh, but this was on sale. Very strong smell as others mentioned, like strong enough to not want to be in the house for a few hours or more, as least on the same level as the washer, but it does take away the yucky smell for a bit, maybe a week or so. The smell did transfer to items washed for a few washes as well so tried to just do towels. Had planned to try it a second week in a row as suggested to do 3 consecutive weeks for machines with an existing odour problems, but really wanted to make sure kids wouldn't be around for the smell so never did it. Not sure why Tide doesn't tone down the fragrance a bit or make it something pleasant like lemon or lavender because it is really nasty. Maybe will try just half a pack like someone suggested for the 2 remaining packs, then probably will go back to Affresh.

We have a front-loading washer that's a few years old and it can get pretty stinky, especially if we forget a load in there and leave the door closed overnight. I've found that the Tide washing machine cleaner does help with the funky smell (better than vinegar/bleach) if we use it once a month.
