I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with a soda, but Trip to the Tropics totally surprised me. It’s not your average sugary drink. The flavors are light, natural, and beautifully layered - guava, grapefruit, and a hint of hibiscus makes it feel like a fancy spa drink rather than soda.

Refreshing burst of natural tropical flavours
The “Trip To The Tropics” soda from Say It Ain’t Soda is genuinely one of the best refreshing drinks I’ve had this summer. The flavour is a vibrant blend of real grapefruit, guava, rose, rosemary and hibiscus. It really delivers on tropical taste without being overly sweet or artificial.
What stood out most to me is the ingredient list. Made from 100% real fruit, botanicals, and herbs, with no artificial additives. It’s lightly sweetened with agave and is only 35 calories and 8 grams of sugar per can. It is a light and mindful drink choice.
Whether enjoyed on its own or used as a mixer in a mocktail or cocktail, it’s versatile. I am interested to test their other flavours now.

Sweet and refreshing
This was a nice refreshing and quite sweet drink. I had it on its own without any alcohol with it. It would certainly work well with vodka or gin. 8 g of sugar is not too bad and has only 35 cal, which is great. I don’t normally drink these kind of drinks on its own so next time would definitely pair it with a shot of alcohol for a refreshing drink. It is a little sweet tasting for me, but with a few ice cubes to soften the flava would be delicious, but then I am health-conscious and always thinking of sugar so that would help stretch it out for me.

Bittersweet symphony
I received this product for free from Butterly and Say When in exchange for an honest review. I’ve been trying to cut back on sugary drinks so the timing was perfect. I received the flavour “Trip to the Tropics,” and while I enjoyed it I’m not sure I would buy this particular flavour. I’m not a big fan of grapefruit so I found this quite bitter and I couldn’t drink a whole can in one go. That’s not to say it tasted bad- it’s quite refreshing and the natural flavours stand out. It just wasn’t my cup of tea but I’d be open to trying other flavours.

Made in Canada, Say It Ain’t Soda’s latest tropical concoction is like a lazy summer evening under a palm tree… in a can that you can take to the pool, to the beach, or to the patio.
Softly sweet and lightly fizzy, this refreshing drink is made with real fruit and botanicals (with none of that artificial flavouring added on) for a lively fruity and floral blend that is punching in tropical flavours of grapefruit, guava (the “it fruit” of the summer), and hibiscus. And it’s my drink of the summer, too!

Tropical summer vacation vibe without leaving home
Great tropical flavor soda that’s the perfect summer drink. It was light and refreshing, slightly fizzy, and not overly sweet. The flavours were lively with the slight bitterness and tang you get from grapefruit perfectly balanced with undertones of guava and hibiscus in the background to intrigue the palette. It’s perfect on its own or acts as a base for drink mix. My hubby loves it as is and I like it with some fresh berries. Overall, a lovely soda for a summer afternoon on the patio.
