Bought this for my nephew to start kindergarten. It is very easy for him to open himself and he tends to want to eat something from each compartment so he gets variety. Closing it is a bit harder, but a bit of practice and he figured it out. The fact that the food tray comes out makes it easy to wash.

Have been purchasing these for my son from jk to grade 1. He has had 3 and only because the first 2 were lost at school. Now we have one for my daughter who started school this year. I love these because they don't leak and we can put an assortment of things in them. Totally worth the purchase!!!!
