Sweetness balanced with strength and a touch of finesse from pure anise. Did you know Lakrids liquorice is gluten free?! Most liquorice is made with wheat flour but Lakrids uses rice flour for the best texture and finish. To many, NO.1 is not just their number one, it’s their one and only. Made in Denmark. Store in a dark, dry place.
Highlights
Rice flour, invert sugar syrup, cane sugar, treacle, 6.4 % raw liquorice, glucose, rapeseed oil, salt, anise oil, glazing agents (coconut oil, coconut fat).

I first discovered this brand at Tivoli in Copenhagen and - wow - I am so excited to see that's it's available here! It used to be that I'd have to travel to NYC's Chelsea Market since they were the only place in North America that sold it. This is quality licorice, made for serious fans by people who are also licorice fans. It's deep, dark, luscious. If you want "American licorice" they have a red version for you. I only hope Well starts carrying the chocolate-covered versions soon. They are INCREDIBLE.

Tasty!
These are sweet liquorice (similar to panda liquorice) and a well known high-end brand in Denmark. They're super soft and tasty, though the price is a bit outrageous

Strong licorice taste, only for black licorice fans. Not at all like Twizzlers faux licorice, these are made with anise not artificial flavors.

The licorice is good... but is it really worth $11 for a tiny tiny jar?! Not really.
