Just like when breastfeeding, baby latches onto the teat of Calma by creating
a vacuum. Once the vacuum has been established, the baby uses his or her
tongue to increase or decrease the level of the vacuum. When the vacuum is
at baseline, milk will not flow through Calma. However, when a baby increases
the level of the vacuum, Calma allows the milk to pass through the teat into
the baby’s mouth.
- Milk Flow Hole: Milk flow membrane system ensures milk stays in the bottle until the baby chooses to feed by increasing the level of vacuum
- Soft Bumps: The soft bumps stabilize the outer layer and prevent the silicone from collapsing
- Air Venting System: Ensures bottle air pressure remains neutral at all times so milk release is dependent only on level of vacuum created by baby
- Includes 150mL Medela bottle and 2 lids

Great bottles, allowed baby to switch between nursing and bottle very easily. In fact, helped baby open mouth more and improve latch! As other reviewers said, it takes more time to wash because nipple has 3 parts (instead of 2 for example in avent bottles or 1 in other bottles) but that wouldn't stop me from recommending the bottle. Definitely worth the hassle if you're trying to avoid nipple confusion!

Great product. Used this for my baby right from when she was born. We have been alternating between the calma and breastfeeding and it doesn't appear to have caused nipple confusion. If your baby has a strong suck, then s/he will get a lot of milk when feeding which makes it seem like milk flows a bit faster using this nipple versus say, the AVENT newborn low flow nipple.

Great product and came recommended by our hospital. As a new mom of twins, we've had to use bottle in addition to breastfeeding so this bottle is great as since the baby only gets milk when it creates a vacuum, the milk does not "pour" into her mouth as you would with a traditional nipple. I've had no issues with nipple confusion and the bottle and nipple is surprisingly easy to clean once you get a hang of it.

Great product! My preemie needs supplemental feeds twice a day, and is happy to go back & forth between the Calma and the breast. She is also much less fussy & gassy than she was with a regular nipple. A bit pricey, but well worth the money. Plus, it arrived super-fast after ordering!
