Rated 1 out of 5 by from This was my favorite I've eaten this cereal for many years and loved it. But the recent change is very disappointing. This cereal used to be large thick crunchy flakes with a unique flavor. I ate it on a daily basis. I would've rated it with 5 stars. Unfortunately in the past couple of months it no longer tastes the same. It tastes like it lacks a main ingredient. The flakes are also much paler/lighter/thinner/smaller than they used to be and the cereal turns to dust during shipping and that never happened before. Very disappointing! If you read other reviews, you will see that this cereal used to get nearly all 5-star reviews, but in the past few months, there are negative reviews.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For Purveyors of the Finest Moresh Grain They've somehow found that magic balancing point of the most amount of whole grains that you want to taste, without resembling other brands poor attempts that taste more like some flavor of cardboard and/or birdseed. All the right notes are here so that it doesn't like a boring brand flake, while at the same time having only enough sugar that makes it moreish, without feeling like you'll ever have too much either. It's like if you've ever found that PERFECT loaf of multigrain bread, and you know how hard that is? I'm a skinny lad and I always end up pouring a multiple serving bowl with a contrast of rich sweet whole milk. Its remained my favorite cereal for years. Go try it already!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Favorite cereal no more I've eaten this cereal most mornings for over five years. The previous formulation combined decent nutrition, high fiber, and great taste. Some time over the past year Heritage Flakes changed, and not for the better. The new version tastes like stale, sweetened cardboard. Like many other recent reviewers, I thought I either purchased a bad batch or let the cereal get stale. Unfortunately not. Fresh from the box, the taste is poor. After a week in an airtight container it is worse. I dumped the last bag outside and even the ducks and squirrels won't eat it. Note to Nature's Path: Please revisit what once made this cereal so good. The box advertises "New look same great taste." Sorry, but only the first phrase is accurate.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from What happened? Did you change the recipe? I've been eating Heritage Flakes almost daily for over a decade. I have noticed that sometimes the flakes will be a bit too sweet or a bit too light or too soft or too hard, etc. There hasn't always been consistency but I've stuck with the cereal because I have mostly enjoyed it and find it to be healthier than most cereals. However, for the past month or more, the cereal has not been good! The flakes are smaller. They get mushy in milk. There are a lot of crumbs in the package. All of these boxes I've purchased from Trader Joe's and the expiration date is Dec 4, 2019. I keep hoping that these boxes will sell out of the store and a new batch comes in that is back to having better flakes. I hope I don't have to give up this cereal but I'm not enjoying eating mush.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What a shame. What has happened to my formerly favorite cereal? This was my favorite cereal. I loved the flavor and the crunch and the fact that it was low in sugar and contained healthy grains. The flakes used to be darker and have some flavor. I wish you would return to using the previous recipe. For me it was the perfect cereal. If this was your best seller, I wonder if the sales have gone down. Please reconsider your decision to change the recipe. Thank you for considering my request.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bring back the old recipe! Heritage Flakes was my favorite cereal bar none, an excellent product in every way. It is such a huge disappointment to find that the product has changed so dramatically: its color is bland now, not crispy brown,, the taste is bland, too; in fact, it doesn't taste like much of anything at all. Please consider returning to the old formula!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It used to be terrific! This cereal used to be terrific: delicious and fairly nutritious (high fiber and low in salt and sugar compared to most cereals.) We ate it on a daily basis for years. We also got other family members and friends to eat it. We would've rated it with 5 stars. Unfortunately in the past couple of months we've tried it, it no longer tastes good. We have had to resort to buying other brands of cereal because it tastes that bad. It used to have a wonderful hearty nutty flavor. Now it tastes gummy. It tastes like it lacks the whole wheat. The flakes are also much paler/lighter in color than they used to be. We thought that perhaps there was just a bad batch produced, and we hoped that the cereal would go back to how it used to taste. But that hasn't happened. It is time for us to find a permanent replacement. Very disappointing! If you read other reviews, you will see that this cereal used to get nearly all 5-star reviews, but in the past few months, there are negative reviews and loyal customers have noticed a change and are not happy about it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thank you for your great products I love this cereal, it is my favorite. But I have to be careful with the amount of sugar added. With the standard 6-9 grams added to most products, I found it still too, too sweet for my taste. I am Diabetic and very conscious of sugar intake from food sources, a necessity in controlling the disease. I like everything about the Nature's Path products-it's whole grain ingredients, organic farming, etc. Nevertheless, it would be wonderful if these cereal contain no more than 1-3 grams of sugar or better yet, No sugar at all. Most cereals on the market don't carry unsweetened cereals and I have to settle to the one that has the least amount. Thank you for your great products.
