If you ever had the privilege of using REAL flour sack fabric, you would be extremely disappointed with these towels. While they may well be colourful, they are much smaller and they are so thin that you can see the light through them. My father was a baker and we had the real ones. As a child I embroidered many to pass the time. They were heavy duty cloth, absorbent and large. They could be used for any number of tasks from drying dishes to an arm sling. The string with which they were sewn was wound into balls and became as multi purpose as the cloth was. And they say recycling is a new thing! I feel for people who don't know the real thing. These would never hold flour.
