Not impressed for the price
Two major problems with this product: first as noted by many people is the design of the head which makes it almost impossible to reach tight spots (such as close to your nose). the gap surrounding the heads is way too big.
Second gripe is the battery - after less than 2 years mine doesn't hold a charge very long and will randomly spin up / down as though the battery isn't able to provide the torque required by the motor. Being a sealed unit, it is supposedly 'impossible' to replace but you can get to it with a bit of persistence. Nice to see it engineered for obsolescence ...
Finally, the app isn't useful - at all ...

As a lifelong blade shaver, I am impressed!
I have a moderately heavy beard, and for my 45 years of shaving I've found a Trac II blade was the only close shave I could get. That said, m,y face is a big 'craggy', and I have a lifetime of cuts, scars, and used styptic pencils. I've tried electric in the past and was underwhelmed. However, I received the Series 9000 (S9982) shaver as a gift and decided I was would make an honest effort. I'm still learring the ins-and-outs of shaving with an electric razor, but I have to see that I am impressed at the closeness of the shave I'm getting, and I feel like I may never need to suffer the cust and scrapes of my Trac II ever again.

Too big/ over priced
I have owned three Philips electric shavers in the past including an older model 9000. The new 9000 has an extra large head but the same size cutting surface. The cutting surface is surrounded by large non cutting pieces that do not allow it to get in close to ears nose and jaw. It is a terrible razor with a bunch of fancy and unnecessary electronic tonics that are useless. I thought I was buying a new version of the 9000 I have owned for years. Only reason I bought a new one is the old one was the self cleaning base gave out on the old one.

This product is far less effective
I gave away my 30 year old Philips shaver and now wish I had kept it. This new one is almost useless when trying to shave as it I have to go over several times before I get a reasonable clean shave. I would not recommend this model.

New design raises questions
As a past owner of Philips shavers, it was time to replace mine. The new shaving head has square edges which isn't he best for getting in close in some area's. The 2nd thing I've noticed is the shaver doesn't retain all of the facial hair and drops it to the vanity top. 3rd is this shaver has pressure sensitive lighting which doesn't always work so I have turned it off. Lastly the replacement shaving heads are still very expensive. Glad I purchased during Black Friday sale otherwise I wouldn't own or recommend this model.

Fantastic Phillips Shaver!!!
Got this shaver as an XMAS Gift from one of my son's. What a Great product it is!!! It can be used for Dry & Wet Shaving!
It provides a very smooth shave with a set of coloured lites to let you know whether you're applying the right amount of pressure..if too light or too hard..you get different colours!
It has a lock function for when you travel..so no accidental powering on leading to your bag being opened by Athe airlines.
One of the best features is its self cleaning feature..put it on the cleaner tub..press power and Voila!! The Shaver goes thru a clean cycle.
Very pleased with this Amazing Shaver!!!!

22 years and they still cannot make it better
Cool shaver with auto clean feature, sensor feedback and app integration. Not bad but to be fair everything has app integration these days, so it is not that big of a deal. It has OLED display, so does my 22 year old 8894 which is even coloured OLED! It has like 40-50 min battery, my 22year old 8894 used to have 125min battery and since two years ago shows 75 min full charge. And it is like real minutes. This new one shows percent and you are lucky to get 20 shaves out of it (2-2:30 a shave max). And it is larger, like 30% larger. How did you manage that? So worse display and battery life and still larger!!! Head is so large that makes it difficult to go around nose area. Like getting an iPhone 14 that has lower battery life and worse display than iPhone 3 in a bigger package. Even worse as you have to go 22 years back! And it is larger on the body/head and a tad heavier too. Stand is kind of stupid too. 8894 has a perfect stand that you do not need to lineup the connectors. This one you have to go bulls eye! Head cleaner is missing a cap as it collects dust during the day so I put a cover on it if shaver is not on it. Overall is a messed design. Not as bad as prestige one that I got 8 months ago and returned in a week, but still a messed up product. I guess this one goes back too.

Much improved but not perfect
This is the best Phillips electric shaver I've used, I enjoy using it and like the adjoining app which you can use with the shaver. It still needs improvement in the closeness you should be able to achieve. The biggest disappointment is not getting a stand with this model, in some cases it does come for the very same price as this one. I thought that the one I bought did come with it, Phillips if you read this I would appreciate it if you could send me a stand for the shaver, thank you.
