Description

Ammonium Lactate 12% is used to treat dry, scaly skin conditions (e.g., xerosis, ichthyosis vulgaris) and can also help relieve itching from these conditions.  Ammonium Lactate 12% works by increasing the moisture in the skin.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not the same as Lac-Hydrin... I miss the discontinued Lac-Hydrin.Tried to find a replacement for years. Saw the reviews on well.ca and gave this Dermalac a try. It’s not even in the same ballpark as the old Lac-Hydrin, but it does have lactic acid, so I’ll just use it up for now. Dermalac doesn’t moisturize as good as Lac-Hydrin. Will not repurchase. For those folks on the hunt for a replacement of Lac-Hydrin, I have found a really good lactic acid lotion by avene called akerat, but it is hard to find on shelves in Wpg., plus it’s pricey. It moisturizes the best so far ( on the same level as Lac-Hydrin), and it is unscented. Too bad well.ca doesn’t carry it, I need more for my rare stockpile. Dermalac was a dud for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As many of you, I was using Lac-Hydrin and was pretty upset when I realised it was discontinued. I asked my doctor for something equivalent but I ended up doing trials and errors with few expensive lotions. Then I remembered having tried Dermalac in the past. By that point, my skin wasn't just itchy, it was scally, hard and it felt like it was snowing every time I removed a shirt. Then I ordered Dermalac. Twice a day for a few weeks and now my skin is soooo soft. I have found my new "Lac-Hydrin" in Dermalac!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Watery lotion I have purchased Dermalac lotion before recommended by a skin doctor. It came in a tube, not a bottle like this one I recently purchased. I ordered the lotion through my pharmacy. But my pharmacist told me it was discontinued so I search online and found that Well.ca carries the same product but in a bottle instead of a tube. The first time I use this I found it surprisingly watery. The lotion I have used for years is thick and heavy whereas this one has nothing close to it. Maybe the manufacturer has diluted the lotion? I think it still does the work since the ingredients are the same

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I used Lac Hydrin for a decade, it was my saviour for my KP, my scaly dry skin and my ingrown hair. I was so sad when it was discontinued, I don’t understand. I tried another brand with the ammonium lactate and it was awful, it literally balled up. This is pretty good, it’s hard to find, but it seems more moisturizing than LacHydrin and it smells better, so I like it. I had bought the cream however and it wasn’t good at all, I stick with the lotion. Please never discontinu, nothing else works.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I've been looking for something for my KP and I saw that Lac-Hydrin had been discontinued, so tried this because people recommended it instead. I know certain things work better for certain people but this **** was NOT good for me. I'm not sure if it's supposed to do this, but it raised my pores! My KP never had texture, just the dots. But this seemed to inflame my pores. It made them redder, like they were swollen. Again, it might work for certain people, but it made me itchy and seemed to make things worse for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Apparently, I have eczema. You wouldn't be able to tell by looking at my skin. It's soft and clear, however, I itch. The itch is extreme to the point that I bleed on occassions by scratching in the night. It wakes me up and I go to bed everynight with an ice pack. I have been to a dermatologist, with no help there. For years I have been using hydrous emollient mixing it with aloe vera and vita-e skin oil. Then on top of that I applied Cortizone 10 (perscription). It has kept it somewhat bearable. Then a friend asked a professional friend and she suggested Dermalac Lotion (not the cream). It's been a couple of weeks since I have been using Dermalac, and I have not been using the cortizone 10. It has been wonderful so far, much more relief. I'll really know how effective it is when winter is here.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I had very dry skin and after reading reviews online I thought I try out this brand. After a week of use I noticed that all my dry skin was starting to shed off. Also, the cream left my skin very soft. I would highly recommend this cream fro anyone with dry skin. Regarding KP - it helps but not as much as I thought it would. Overall its a good daily cream to use.
