Before using this, I would have said a face wash is won't really do anything to your skin other than clean it, but this product is amazing. Keeps breakouts under control, cleans without over drying, and all of a sudden, I have this amazing skin tone, almost overnight. I think I'm in love.

This is a really nice face wash that doesn't cause redness or irritation. Creates a good lather and definitely adds moisture rather than stripping it away. The only 'complaint' is that it is a bit difficult to use because it's watery. Pumped it onto my fingers the first time instead of my palm and lost most of it.

I purchased this a few months ago and absolutely love it. I am in my 40s and have combination to oily skin. I pair it up with the matching face cream Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean Oil Control Lotion as the face wash tends to be drying. It does smell like tea tree (I don't mind it - I like it) and something else but the scent does not last. My skin always feels clean and revived after.
The one thing I did notice is that it dries out my nails so much that they start to crack and break! I stopped using it for a month and my nails regained their health. I do use grape seed and other natural oils and butters to help now.

Acne is usually caused by hormones, GI upset, or food allergies, so it's hard to rate any skin care regime when you're battling pimples! I didn't like the smell of the tea tree oil at first, just because it was my first time dealing with it. Now I'm enjoying it, and my face always feels super tight after washing, which is exactly what I'm looking for in a comb/oily wash. I agree with the other reviewers that it is drying, BUT only if you don't use the Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean Oil Control Lotion afterwards.

I love many of the other Desert Essence products and I really was hoping the same for this one. I have combination/oily skin and find that this face wash leaves my skin feeling dry and overly squeaky clean. I have had to double up on moisturizer to compensate. It might be okay for teens in the summer when you sweat a lot, but I don't think it's right for my 30 something skin. I agree with the other reviews to NOT get it in your eyes. Even when I try to make sure it is all washed off before opening my eyes, some sneaks in and ouch!

I found the tea tree oil to be very drying. I have been using the Nourish cucumber watercress facewash for a couple years (not sold on well.ca) and love it but wanted to find something I could purchase in Canada. I gave this one an honest try for over a week to see if my skin just needed to adjust to the new soap, but it really seemed to upset the balance I had going on. Very drying, brings out a lot of redness in my skin, and I broke out for the first time in years. I think it's the antibacterial nature of the tea tree.. it's just so harsh and kills off everything, leaving my skin vulnerable rather than a good balance of friendly bacteria to keep the bad ones in check. It strips the skin rather than gently washing it. I'll be sticking with Nourish and ordering it from the states unless well.ca wants to start offering it here too.
I gave this product two stars still because of the awesome ingredients. I just think it's the wrong approach to face washing.
