Don't squeeze too hard
Cute wooden tongs... that are totally useless. I used them two separate times to lift bagel halves out of the toaster. I noticed there was no spring connecting both "arms", so I made a point of not squeezing the ends together too tightly while retrieving the bagels. My gentle touch didn't matter -- the tongs snapped crisply, like tree branches during our recent ice storm. It's too bad -- they looked nicer than typical plastic tongs-- but I have a feeling that I'll be shopping for something like that to replace this defective design.

No Burnt Fingers
They are a little stiff but, once you get used to them, they work good. I used to grab the toast with my finger nails that no longer exist because of COVID-19 and no nail salon visits. I have to use a tool now and this one works. Price was very reasonable.
