Awful scent and taste
I was using a dark blue Labello and was quite happy with, but wanted to try something else. Labello is branded as Nivea where i bought it so i went for the product of the same brand but with supposedly a better formula.
Oh boy, what a mistake it was.
The scent is awful, the taste of something chemical sits on the lips like i'm constantly drinking a bottle of perfume and my lips are itching. The hydrating effect also lasts much less than with the original formula. Now I'm retelling myself the old truth - if it works don't change it...
Not only it is the worst lip balm amongst the Nivea ones for me, it is probably the worst one i have ever used.

New formula is awful
I used to LOVE Nivea Essentials and raved about it to everyone I knew. It worked amazingly. I just finished the last tube from my stockpile and had to buy more... I knew before I even put it on my lips that something was different. I almost cried! The new formula is terrible. It feels like waxy paste and makes your lips stick together. It doesn't soak in it just sits there as a thick layer. It also smells gross. I am honestly so disappointed and now have to start the hunt for a replacement, which I'm sure wrong be as good. I hate when companies change their formula on something many people use daily and love. Boo Nivea!

Bring back the old formula!
I’ll say it a million times - BRING BACK THE OLD FORMULA! This new formula is terrible. It smells bad, tastes bad, and feels bad on application and after “long wear” (which is about 1/10 of the wear time of the old formula). You have to keep reapplying because it dries up in no time, which makes me think that is exactly what they wanted out of the new formula. Use more, buy more. Unfortunately, I have switched to another brand. If you bring the old formula back, I will buy every single one! Seriously though…do you have a box of old formula somewhere at corporate? I’ll buy them all LOL (but seriously).

Really loved the original balm, but this one ha...
My go-to lip balm has always been the original dark blue Nivea, but when I went to buy more this year, they didn't have the original in store, so I went with this light blue Hydro Care one, thinking it would be similar. The smell is very off putting, and I can "taste" the scent when I eat and drink. I also find myself applying it much more often than I used to apply the original, and my lips remain dry and peeling.
I wouldn't buy this one again. I'm usually not the type to bother with trying to get refunds, but I'm thinking I'll contact the company about this, seeing how bad the other reviews are.

"New and Improved Formula" - HARDLY!
Like many of the people who have reviewed this product, I couldn't believe it when I recently bought the new Hydro Care lip balm. I'd give ZERO stars if I could. I've been using this lip balm for over 30 years starting when it was called Labello. I'm very unhappy at the prospect of trying to find another lip balm that compares to the old formula. Can nothing stay the same these days? Why change an excellent product? I guess the company just couldn't resist the temptation of wanting to call it "New and Improved". I predict they will be losing many loyal customers over this change. They've lost me.

Smooth and not waxy
The texture of this lip balm surprised me! I was fully expecting it to be waxy and uncomfortably given that I've had experiences like that with other drugstore brands. This Nivea balm went on very smoothly and lasted a pretty long time without making my lips feel uncomfortable (again, I've tried other drugstore brands where it just never felt moisturizing enough). The balm is stiff enough that I don't have to worry about it breaking easily, but it's soft enough for a very smooth application.
The biggest downside for me is the scent. It has a sort of floral fresh scent that's a little too strong for my liking so I haven't actually reached for this balm everyday unless I couldn't find my other usual one.
I got this free to try from Influenster.

Best lip care product out there!
This is the best lip care. It's healing and soothing and good to have on hand. It has no fragrance and is unflavored, which is my preference. It also works to heal cuticles and splits in dry skin. I always keep several tubes on hand and carry it in my purse, so I'm never without it. Yes, it's that good!

Love Love Love
First of all, I love the very very light and delicate floral-fresh scent (TBT I didn't realize it was scented until read the reviews, that's how light the scent is), though I am wary of "fragrance" in any formula, my sensitive lips are not irritated and zero migraines have been triggered, thank God.
Secondly, be warned, a little goes along way with this incredulously silky, moisturizing, emollient formula - remember a new formula often times require adjustments to application and a heavy hand is both not recommended nor is it required IMO.
Lastly, the cushiony velvety barrier protecting dry down locks in the moisture for hours on end whilst leaving me with a soft, supple, kissable pout
I'm just glad I bought it today BEFORE reading the reviews. I hope this helped.
Blessings.
