Rated 2 out of 5 by Sclark68 from Change for the worse I had been buying Nivea Hydro Care for years and used it daily. I chose this particular brand because it always left my lips feeling soft and moist, unlike so many other lip balms. I loved it so much I bought several at a time and like other users, "stock piled" them because I didn't want to run out. Yesterday I bought several tubes and could immediately tell that something was wrong. The balm no longer leaves my lips feeling "hydrated" but waxy, just like all the others. Now, for the first time in probably 15 years I'll be on the lookout for something new. You've just lost a loyal customer, Nivea. Good job.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Julia from Scent and formula I LOVED the old lip balms, the light blue was always my favourite, now, Nivea has changed the scent and formula to a awful scent, and a rough, not smooth or hydrating formula. There are so many reviews stating this by many other customers, not sure why they haven’t taken this into consideration and gone back to the original!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Bee from Why did you change the formula - new one is terrible I have used this lip balm for years and loved it. My supply was getting low so I picked up a new package. I opened the tube and swiped it on my lips and the noxious fruity scent hit my nostrils and made me nauseated. I picked up the package and saw 'new improved formula'. Not improved. I threw out the package. What a waste of money. Very unhappy about this change. I rarely give reviews, but I went looking to give one this time. I see I'm not the only one. Please change it back. I am looking for old stock in the stores and once that's gone I am sadly looking to switch to something else.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Sad L. from NEW formula ruined my decade long favorite lip balm! I am so sad and upset that Nivea changed the formula of this lip balm that I've been using for over 10 years. I wish companies didn't do this to their loyal customers! I've literally not purchased a single other competitor's lip balm for a decade now, ever since I first tried the Nivea Essential balm but now I'll be buying and trying other brands to find something to replace this old favorite. The new formula has a hard and waxy consistency, not smooth and moisturizing AT ALL! I'll never buy this again unless they bring back the old formula.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Cath X. from Bring back old formula! I was SO disappointed when I put the NIVEA Essentials lip balm on my lips today... First off, where did the lovely scent go?! Now, the lip balm is waxy, tacky and it's so difficult to rub my lips together. It feels like I'm rubbing a glue stick on my lips. The old formula was rich, creamy and emollient. I've been buying this lip balm for years, so I'm VERY disappointed that they would change up the formula of such a cult classic. I will not be repurchasing this lip balm unless they change the formula back.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Citylime from A waxy sticky formula is supposed to be a “improved formula”? I’ve tried a number of lip balms, a lot of them makes your lip feel moisturized first but always ended up drying up or even chapped my lips after a couple hours. Nivea was the one lip balm that worked, makes my lip felt and is moisturized hours to go. It’s simple, scent free, does its job, and feels great, if I want I can reapply it over and over and still feels silky smooth. BUT THEY CHANGED THAT. They decide a waxy, sticky, and a soap scent lip balm is now the “improved formula”. I’m speechless, I’d rather put Vaseline on.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Debfit from Buyer Beware “New Improved” Formula is radically (& horribly) different from Original As a 20 year faithful Nivea (formerly Labello) lip balm user, I’m appalled by this update. The scent is absolutely awful. Nauseating really. Might as well take a bar of soap and rub it on your lips. As well, this new formula is actually drying. It is not soothing on the lips whatsoever. In fact it’s the antithesis of moisturizing as it leaves your lips dry. A weird waxy dryness that is uncomfortable. Please change it back. READ YOUR REVIEWS. No one is happy with this new version. Or, if you insist on keeping this horrible ‘new improved’ formula, then keep both bringing back the ‘original’. As a loyal buyer, I had to throw them out (bought the 2-pack like I normally do). Waist of money and plastic. I will never buy again unless you bring back the ‘original’ version.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lee4 from Best lip care product out there! This is the best lip care. It's healing and soothing and good to have on hand. It has no fragrance and is unflavored, which is my preference. It also works to heal cuticles and splits in dry skin. I always keep several tubes on hand and carry it in my purse, so I'm never without it. Yes, it's that good!
