I have been searching for help with sleep for my adult autistic son. He would resist sleep for hours. At first, melatonin (5mg) helped, but after a few weeks, it started to lose some of its effect. However, when I started adding 150 mg 5HTP, he now goes to sleep within 2 hours ( he takes the supplements with a large snack in the evening). And now we can all sleep :)

I've been using 200mg 5-htp a day with 600mg of st.johns wort. It has helped tremendously with my sleep. Before I was having terrible insomnia and would lie awake all night, now I sleep within minutes and wake up really refreshed. Just be careful if you combine it with st.johns wort as others have had issues with the combination, I haven't had any though.
