Description
Philips AVENT Soothie Heart is from the pacifier brand distributed in hospitals nationwide, used by doctors & nurses to soothe newborns. Its one piece construction is specially sized and shaped for babies 0-3 months old and adheres to the American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines. Soothie Heart is designed to calm and soothe without inhibiting normal oral development, like the natural development of teeth and gums. It has a heart-shaped, curved shield for more comfort. Transparent, tasteless and odorless, the nipple is strong and smooth. It won't become sticky, discolored or misshapen. It's also compatible with most pacifier clips. Soothie Heart is made of hospital-grade, BPA-free and latex-free silicone for strength, comfort and durability. It is dishwasher safe and can be sterilized in a sterilizer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Why is it so hard? I’ve had two babies who used soothies in the past but with our new baby we went with another brand because we wanted a latex pacifier (please consider making a latex soothie!). She loves the brand we chose but I decided to try her on a soothie since the shape is said to be better for developing mouths. I got the two pack of soothie hearts in 3-18 month since our little one is about 3.5 months old. The first thing that strikes me about it is how *hard* the silicone is. It’s velvety soft to touch but too hard to get a good grip without sucking very hard. My baby likes chewing it but doesn’t seem to know how to suck it, which is concerning because I know having to suck very hard on a paci is what contributes to the negative impacts of using pacifiers. I know for a fact the previous versions of this pacifier we’ve used were not this hard. I’m going to keep trying with it to see if she learns to use it but still concerned that it will mess up her palette.
